Through a 'citizen science' approach (hookedonmusic), Dr John Ashley Burgoyne, and his team used the first results to identify the Spice Girls' 'Wannabe' as one of the most memorable songs of all time and highlighted the exceptional importance of melody in forming musical memories.
During this talk we will present an analysis of the Dutch representation in the SXSW Music program, predicting the ‘catchyness’ of songs in the repertoire of the respective artists. This prediction is the result of applying the content analysis algoritm that resulted from the COGITCH project.
