Information technology is changing the workplace by facilitating communication, flattening organizational structures, and enabling remote work. Information drives management functions and is useful when it is timely, high quality, complete, relevant, and understandable. Managers use a five-step decision-making process of defining problems, generating solutions, choosing actions, implementing decisions, and evaluating results. Current issues in decision-making include biases, escalating commitment, and ensuring ethical outcomes.
