Dr. Imran Zawwar, is serving as Regional Director
Middle East, Center for Executive Development at
Cranfield School of Management and Leadership.

Dr. Zawwar is an Ex-Naval officer and an
international development strategist with experience
in Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Australia. He is
frequently retained by C-level executives, heads of
state, global business leaders, and government
officials to provide counsel on organizational strategy
and then focus entities on making strategies a
reality. His work spans some of the most challenging
global development and business issues, involving
key areas of policy, strategy, and the implementation
of change. He is a noted authority on Economics,
Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Innovation that
facilitates economic development & competitiveness.
He is a frequent speaker at global policy summits,
academic/non-academic conferences, and
professional meetings.
During the Master Class Dr. Imran Zawwar emphasized
on the relevance and importance of Technology and
Entrepreneurship for the economic growth of Pakistan.
Dr. Zawwar quoted Technology as an underline variable
which can enable Pakistan to catch-up quickly with
growing economies. Entrepreneurship on the other
hand is the driver of technology.
He further classified entrepreneurship into 2 types
which are; necessity based entrepreneurship &
opportunity base entrepreneurship. Necessity
entrepreneurship is push based while opportunity
entrepreneurship[ is pull based. Dr. Zawwar enlightened
the participants and the pros and cons of both types of
entrepreneurship.
Dr. Imran Zawwar also highlighted the importance of
strategic innovation for economic sustainability &
market growth. Innovation refers to more than adopting
the latest technology. While strategic innovation is
deeply ingrained in how an organization should manage
change and endorse changing circumstances. As
innovation enables organizations to deliver exceptional
customer experience and increased revenue.

Fund Raising
In this session, the incubatees was inculcated about
raising investment for business and the importance
of storytelling. Many conglomerates like Coca Cola,
Space X, and Apple are built on stories. The right
story can help a startup achieve a breakthrough.
This session was delivered by Mr. Imran Jattala, Co-
founder and CEO of Center for Global Innovators.
Mr. Jattala emphasized that Startups need to
identify their target market or the companies from
which they want to raise investment and reach out
to them. In this session the incubatees were
enlightened about the importance of key metrics for
fundraising. Good metrics make it easy for people to
invest. Bad metrics make it tough!
National Languages for Modern Languages
Investor Pitch & Demo Day
This session aimed to prepare startups about how to
engage the investor and prepare and deliver their
elevator pitch.
The first step to raise funding is to create a effective
pitch deck. It is essential for startups, to highlight the
most interesting things about them to give a good first
impression in front of the audience. For this, they
should make their presentation concise.
Startups were further told that business models, market
opportunity, and market projection should be there in a
pitching deck. So that investors can have an overview of
their business. The focus of the pitch deck should be
based on solid numbers, users, and growth metrics.

Fund Raising
Raising Fund is one of the most important requisites
for startup founders/ entrepreneurs looking to take
their business to the next level.
This session was delivered by Mr. Adnan Us Sadiq
from Punjab Board of Investment & Trade.
Fundraising is tedious and ambiguous. In this
session the incubatees were inculcated much to
calculate funds to be raised, when to raise funds,
and from which sources to raise funds, how to
structure a company for seed, angel and venture
capital investment, best practices in identifying and
approaching potential investors, methodologies used
in determining valuation of early-stage companies,
negotiating and document term sheet & key issues.

Investor Pitch & Demo Day
It is essential for startups to prepare and present and
structure their elevator pitches in a way to enable
investors grasp their vision and business model to be
recognized as poised and confident.
In this session the incubates were inculcated about
preparing vibrant and plausible presentations and
delivering them with confidence and conviction.
Incubatees were asked to take part in this exercise
where they presented their elevator pitch during the
session.
