Dutch Power bijeenkomst was held on October 9, 2013 to discuss water technology innovations from Wetsus. Wetsus promotes multidisciplinary science with commercial relevance to create business opportunities from new knowledge in areas like sustainable water supply, wastewater treatment, and energy from water. Wetsus research has led to high patent output and many new water technology companies since 2000. Their work includes projects on salinity gradients for energy storage, rapid washing machines, ammonia removal from wastewater, and a planned 50 kW blue energy demonstration project. Wetsus has strategic partnerships with over 90 companies and aims to continue developing the water technology innovation ecosystem in Leeuwarden.
