Editor's Notes
Monumental Shift Education is experiencing a monumental shift. It is NOT reform, retool, redesign or even transformation. These words mean nothing more than slightly changing things in order to emphasis the state tests. But none of these terms fit. What we are really experiencing is a 杜 o numental shift in the ways students learn, teachers deliver instruction and how systems are organized. 1. a monumental shift where learning is the focus and not the teaching; 2. a monumental shift where 屠 u st in time learning is the norm; 3. a monumental shift where collaboration and connections are the centerpieces for successful learning 4. a monumental shift where the definition of literacy is much more than just reading and writing. It is also media literacy and technology literacy. 5. a monumental shift where teachers are both facilitators and collaborators in the learning process. 6. a monumental shift where students 登 w n their own learning.
