This document discusses using scenarios as a tool for social learning. Scenarios explore plausible futures and help engage diverse stakeholders in decision-making around complex issues with uncertainty like climate change. The CCAFS scenarios program developed socio-economic and climate scenarios for six global regions through stakeholder workshops. These scenarios aim to help decision-makers develop better policies by considering multiple perspectives. Evaluations found the participatory scenario process built relationships and understanding between participants from different backgrounds. The program is focusing more on ongoing social learning across its regional networks.
