The New Yankee Stadium looked to modernize and rely more on information technology to provide new interactive services to fans. They added over 1,100 high-definition TV monitors to provide live game coverage, scores, videos, news and interactive touch screens to order food and merchandise. They also created an interactive Yankee website allowing fans to buy tickets and merchandise online. These changes increased stadium attendance and ticket prices while enhancing service, efficiency and profits for the Yankees. The new technology helped change how the Yankees run their business.

 Many fans now watch games on television rather than attending
them in person or choose other forms of entertainment, such as
electronic games.
 One way to keep stadiums full of fans, and to keep fans at home
happy as well, is to enrich the fan experience by offering more
video and services based on technology.
