The Strategy
Cutting Down Costs
A Senior Mobile Application Consultant met with Karen Eckert, Senior
Director of Information Technology for Case in March 2014. They discussed
a plan for streamlining operations and reducing the amount of time spent on
travel and data entry. This involved converting their current paper processes
to mobile, and having the information seamless integrate into their in-house
systems. With this information, they developed an implementation plan that
included:
• Converting existing paper forms to mobile apps using the GoCanvas
app builder
• Connecting the GoCanvas database to Microsoft Dynamics CRM
through consultation with the GoCanvas professional services team
• Using the PDF Designer to brand all documents with Case Remodeling
brand
• Building auto-calculating fields, connecting those fields to company
pricing information
The goal was to create a process that was not just similar to what the staff
was doing before, but was also significantly faster and more accurate

Instant Insight
After implementation, Case Design saw an immediate increase in billing time.
This is due to work orders being completed out in the field and being instantly
sent back to the office via email so that the invoicing process can begin. The
office staff receives these reports and is able to review and schedule additional
work in real-time without worrying about illegible hand writing or inaccurate
calculations. “In the past”, says Karen Eckert, “The paper forms required the
craftsperson to return to the office before the invoice could be processed”.

Greater Customer Care
With the integration of the GoCanvas database into their Microsoft
Dynamics CRM system, all work order PDFs are automatically attached to a
customer’s record. This has 100% reduced all manually data entry by the
office staff of having to input this information into the CRM, and increasing
data accura-cy by ensuring that all records automatically get filed. Job
liability has also decreased because of the elimination of lost or damaged
forms. Karen Eckert commented that the process of “Building out the work
orders and getting the integration with our CRM system went very
