The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

MAPRO has extensive experience in the
automotive industry in designing and supplying
equipment for the assembling and testing of

laboratory benches for durability, development or

communication technologies (CAN, LIN, etc.) with

Aerospace & Defense
MAPRO has developed different test systems for the
aeronautics, space and defence sector based primarily
on our experience with servo-hydraulic systems.
This way, fatigue benches have been supplied to certify
aircraft landing gear, production control benches (line-
end) for fighter aircraft dynamic actuators (the
Eurofighter Foreplane), where, apart from a complex
hydraulic system used to conduct PAT battery tests
automatically, the trial actuator control was integrated
into the bench control system together with a servo-
controlled load cylinder.
In the field of structural tests, we have supplied special
actuators (of up to 1000KN, with runs of up to 3m,
Skydroll converters and multipliers, etc.) and multi-
channel control equipment for special tests (control F(t),
d(t) and F(d)) in aircraft, missile and turbojet
components.
Industrial Automation
In the railway sector, MAPRO has developed test systems
with hydraulic servo-actuators for high-speed trains (fatigue
and vibration tests), variable width axles and structural
fatigue.
In the electrical industry, automatic trial cells for high power
transformers (handling 50 KV and 400 A), switchboxes and
components.
Applications have also been created for other sectors,
including printer ink conduit fatigue benches, vibration
systems for home appliance transportation tests and other
test specimens.

made solutions to solve assembly processes, from
palletised lines (with automatic or manual

The Lynx is XCOR’s entry into the commercial reusable launch vehicle (RLV) market. This two-seat, piloted space transport vehicle will take
humans and payloads on a half-hour suborbital flight to 100 km (330,000 feet) and then return safely to a landing at the takeoff runway.
Like an aircraft, Lynx is a horizontal takeoff and horizontal landing vehicle, but instead of a jet or piston engine, Lynx uses its own fully reusable
rocket propulsion system to depart a runway and return safely. This approach is unique compared to most other RLVs in development, such as
conventional vertical rocket launches and air-launched winged rocket vehicles “dropped” at altitude from a jet powered mothership.
Lynx has an all-composite airframe that makes it lightweight and strong. With an added thermal protection system (TPS) on the nose and leading
edges it is able to handle the heat of re-entry from the edge of space. The wing area is sized for landing at moderate touchdown speeds near 90
knots. Lynx is about 9 meters (~30 feet) in length with a double-delta wing that spans about 7.5 meters (~24 feet).
