- 2. • Camera Movement refers to the way in which the shot size, angle, distance and composition is altered including the pan, tilt and zoom of a camera. • The reason for the use of camera movement in a shot is to alter the relationship between the camera and the subject. It also gives the audience a different perspective and can construct representations of a type. through the use of camera movement techniques.
- 3. Pan • ‘Pan’ simply refers to the horizontal movement of the camera from left to right or visa versa. It is used it include or exclude a subject from the frame.
- 4. Tilt • ‘Tilt’ refers to the vertical movement of a camera angle, e.g. tilting the lens of a camera up and down rather than moving the entire body of a camera.
- 5. Tracking • A tracking shot is when the camera follows a specific subject on a horizontal plane throughout a shot so that they maintain their appearance in the frame.
- 6. Dolly Shot • A dolly shot is when the camera is mounted onto a dolly or cart so that it can be moved with a smooth transition. This also gives the user the ability to move the camera backwards/forwards whilst adjusting the zoom so that the subject can remain still in the frame and the background can appear to be getting closer or further away.
