2. P.O.V SHOT
The P.O.V shot which stands for point of view is
used to give somebody's perspective as if you were
the actual person. The P.O.V shot is used a lot in
films to build tension in films such as Jaws where it
tends to use the sharks perspective a lot. The P.O.V
shot will most likely be used in my music video to
give somebody’s perspective on something as it
can make the audience connect to the characters
more.

3. MEDIUM CLOSE UP
The medium close up shot usually captures a
full body as seen in the picture and a little bit
of the surroundings. The background detail is
minimal because the shot wants the audience
to focus on the main object/person. The shot
will be useful for my music video if I want the
camera to focus on a specific object and
remove most of the background.

4. CLOSE UP
Here is an example of a close up shot that I
took. The close up shot is used to capture a
specific object/person by removing almost
all of the background. The shot allows the
camera to focus on the detail of a
person/object by removing most of the
background. This causes the audience to
focus on what the camera is showing us.
The close up shot will be used in my music
video if I want the audience to have their
eyes on something specific.

5. ESTABLISHING SHOT
The establishing shot is used to set the
scene in a film or music video. It tends to
be a wide shot showing a landscape and
shows a lot of the background. It is used
so the audience know exactly where the
film/video takes place and where abouts
the characters are. This shot will be
extremely useful for my music video and
will most likely be used at the beginning
or end of it.

6. BIRDS EYE VIEW OR HIGH ANGLE SHOT
The birds eye view or high angle shot is used
to show perspective as if you were looking
down at the ground from above. It is also used
mainly in films to show that something or
someone has power over something else as it
makes everyone on the ground look lower and
helpless. The shot will only be used in my
music video if I want a certain object feel less
powerful than something else or if I want to
give a perspective of something from above.

7. LOW ANGLE SHOT
The low angle camera shot captures
everything as if you were looking upwards
from the ground. It is opposite to the high
angle shot as it is used to capture a
person/object powering over something else.
The shot makes the person/object look bigger
than everyone else. It is used often in monster
films to show the size and scale of them and
give the impression that the people in the film
are helpless. I may use the shot in my music
video if I want to show the scale of
something/someone and make a character
feel helpless.

8. EXTREME CLOSE UP
The extreme close up shot is used mainly to
have all the focus of the camera on a
certain object or feature of a person. It cuts
out all of the background to ensure that all
the focus of the audience is on what the
camera is showing. The camera shot is used
to focus on the small details of an
object/person. I will most likely use the
extreme close up in my music video if I
want the audience to focus on something
specific.

9. OVER THE SHOULDER
The over the shoulder shot is typically used to
show a conversation going on between two
people and looks over one persons shoulder to
show their perspective. It is also used to show a
setting/landscape over somebody’s shoulder
again for perspective. It is quite similar to the
P.O.V shot apart from the perspective is from
somebodies shoulder. I may use this shot along
with my establishing shot to show scenery along
somebodies shoulder.

10. LONG SHOT
The long shot captures people/objects from relatively far away. This
is so the camera can capture more of the background and
surroundings and the main object/person will look a lot smaller.
The shot doesn’t include a lot of detail however it is able to show
more of the shot over other camera angles. The camera angle will
be good use for my music video to capture more of the
background rather than an object/person. There is also the extreme
long shot which I could also use which captures even more of the
background.
