I AM A NATURAL LEADER WHO IS LOOKING TO DEVELOP A CAREER IN NETWORK ENGINEERING AND
MANAGEMENT. I ENJOY WORKING IN FAST PACED AND CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENTS. I TAKE
SATISFACTION IN COMPLETING JOBS EITHER ON TIME OR BEFORE REQUIRED. I BELIEVE IN
PROVIDING A HIGH LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND I WORK CONSISTENTLY TO ACHIEVE
THIS.
SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Communication:
Able to clearly communicate complex information to both clients and colleagues in a
fast paced environment. In my current job it is essential that I give clear instructions
about height and direction when loading high value goods. At university I have
presented my dissertation both in a Viva and a public exhibition and have answered
questions regarding my study.
Leadership:
I have had ongoing experience with leadership in which I really enjoy and thrive in. My
current and previous job I was Head of Department this meant I was responsible for
the performance and motivation of staff. During this time I have managed to exceed
target dates whilst maintaining standards. At University I provided an inexperienced
team leader in a group project with support and encouragement whilst allowing them
to maintain their position.
Teamwork:
I enjoy working as part of a team whilst being able to work alone and managing myself.
As my role of Head of Department I actively encourage the team to keep focused on
mundane jobs whilst encouraging motivation and proactivity. At University I
experienced taking a variety of roles which were not my usual roles. From this I learnt
that all team roles are essential to the success of a project.
Networking Experience:
Academically I have gained a broad understanding of networking principles through
the completion of CCNA 1, 2, 3 and 4 in which I received a Letter of Commendation. I
have studied for 3 years at Degree level in Networking. For my dissertation I have
researched the viability of discrete tunnelling to complete unauthorised data transfers
using three common protocols. While on site I had to complete various networking
connectivity tests and also change/install routing tables correctly when there were
errors.
Netcool Experience:
I have learnt to set up a variety of Netcool OMNIbus architectures to a customer’s
specification and according to best practice guides. My knowledge also branches into
several other Netcool products: ITNM, Impact, JazzSM, ITM and ITNPM. However
OMNIbus was my main focus. Creating customisations based on customer’s
requirements for Netcool is something I have had experience and success with.
2. Linux Experience:
Completing networking tests, resource monitoring, user management and repo
management is something I have had a broad experience with while working with
customers, such as Vodafone. I was also responsible for maintaining the company’s
ESX server, the training and demoing VMs. I also created these VMs and ensured they
were correctly installed to the correct standard. This also involved some Linux and
networking problemshooting.
