This document examines different predictive equations for calculating the bursting pressure of cylindrical pressure vessels made of mild steel. It analyzes test data from various steel vessels to evaluate the accuracy of equations from Faupel, Svensson, and others. The results indicate that Faupel's bursting pressure formula provided predictions closest to the actual test results, though no single equation was perfectly accurate due to material property variations. The document concludes Faupel's equation is the most reliable for predicting the burst strength of thick and thin-walled steel cylindrical vessels.
