Burgenland is the easternmost state of Austria. It has an area of 3,965 square kilometers and a population of around 283,518 people. The capital and largest city is Eisenstadt. Burgenland borders Hungary and is known for its high quality wines, hot springs, and cultural festivals. It contains Lake Neusiedl, which spans the border of Austria and Hungary and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
