• The word “Bureaucracy” stems from the combination of
a French word “Bureau” and a Greek word “Kratos” .
• A system of government in which most of the important
decisions are taken by state officials rather than by elected
representatives. (Oxford Dictionary ) .
• Bureaucracy refers to both a body of non-elective government
officials and an administrative policy-making group.
