Bullying takes many forms and can have long-lasting negative effects. It involves unwanted aggressive behavior between school-aged children and can include threats, rumors, attacks, or exclusion from groups. The different types of bullying are cyberbullying, verbal, physical, and emotional bullying. Kids who bully are at risk of continuing violent and antisocial behaviors into adulthood. They are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, get into fights, and have relationship problems. Cyberbullying uses electronic means like phones and social media to spread rumors or post embarrassing content. Witnessing bullying or being bullied can increase risks of depression, anxiety, sleep, and eating issues. Telling an adult is important to help stop bullying.
