This document discusses bullying, including definitions and characteristics of bullies and victims. It notes that bullies often have problems resolving conflicts and academics, while victims tend to lack social skills and have negative self-thoughts. It critiques some common anti-bullying strategies as misdirected or short-term fixes. Statistics are presented on bullying prevalence and society's response. Suggestions are made to adopt online reporting, conduct needs assessments, and debate the issue nationally to promote education and solutions. The importance of advocacy and volunteering to address bullying and childhood obesity is emphasized.

Jody Foley LCSW encourages that next step in adolescent development for women... moving from various forms of low self esteem and unhappiness/depression to self confidence and self determination. The girls there love the group and endorse this new direction - going for the real girl, the self determined girl, the girl moving from stuck to moving forward.
Suzette Fromm-Reed, PhD & Wytress Richardson, EdD Presentation at 2016 Science of HOPE
Description:
The purpose of this presentation is to explore the implications of research that examined community buffers to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and consider how to build and sustain organizational and community resilience. Specifically, findings will be explored indicating community buffers were at least as important as individual level resilience and are needed to sustain the impact of individual level resilience. The study examined: 1. Adult surveys from Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), (N=30,000), 2. Youth surveys examining risk and protective factors (N= 200,000) and 3. Public agency data (from merged social, health and education agency databases) for different communities (N=120) in Washington State (all merged data for 2009-2012 by the Foundation for Healthy Generations in Seattle, funded by the Gates Foundation and presented by external consultants). The intent of this presentation is to engage in a dialogue about the implications of the findings.
This presentation is all about bullying. What is the causes and effects of it and also what is the symptoms that we can know that person is in bullying stage
Social media offers some surprising health benefits. Kathy Sipple uses Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to demonstrate how blogging, Facebooking and tweeting can lead to greater happiness and even self actualization.

Bullying and Cyber Bullying – from the classroom to the chatroom
Bullying is a difficult problem that far too many kids, and their parents, face. This has been with us for a long time. Nearly every child knows someone, or knows of someone, who has been bullied. With advances in communications, technology, smartphones and digital cameras, the problem has grown to be 24x7, and follows kids home. With events like Facebook’s anti-bullying campaign and well-publicized teen suicides resulting from bullying on Ask.fm, this issue has been prominent in the mainstream media. Join us for this unique discussion as we look at the psychological and technological issues surrounding modern bullying.
2. Bullying Includes
Definition of bully
noun (plural bullies)

“A typical bully has trouble resolving problems with others
and also has trouble academically,” said Cook. “He or she
usually has negative attitudes and beliefs about others,
feels negatively toward himself/herself, comes from a
family environment characterized by conflict and poor
parenting, perceives school as negative and is negatively
influenced by peers.”
“A typical victim is likely to be aggressive, lack social skills,
think negative thoughts, experience difficulties in solving
social problems, come from negative family, school and
community environments and be noticeably rejected and
isolated by peers,” said Cook.

6. Tools of Support
Bullying victims are often reluctant to report such
events and when they do systems may be unable to
grasp the scope of the issue/issues. Functional
resources may be lacking due to scarce funding
financial commitments.
I recommend all schools adopt and adapt to an on
line reporting tool.

The change in technology created by the virtual world has been like a run away train filled with chemicals. Our society has gotten much more insensitive with regard to the level and the depths of negative interactions such as Bullying. Government programs have been slow to respond ,if at all.
As a victim of Bullying and during witnessed interactions fellow staff members asked me “ What did you do to cause this ?”
Please contact administrators and politicians to do more on the complex issue of Bullying.
Bullying that feature workable plans will require a thorough understanding of the issue and programs that are locked into a fragmented mindset can become part of the problem.
