PurposeWe have the raw material. Why not more startups? Low on resources. Need to create a scalable ecosystem. Break the culture. Better, faster, cheaper. Credibilty3 dot com startups. The internet will change everything. One of the things it changed the most is startups themselves.Lean Startup pioneered at UC Berkeley. Of course, we’ve been doing it for years. My dot com startups outsourcing to Russia, Eastern Eurpoe and Asia. Chorus and Amplyx.Now Berkeley is far enough away from Stanford that we don’t have that deeply embedded startup culture. We don’t have piles of VCs and entrepreneurs walking our halls. That said, most of our students stay here. UC Berkeley is the #1 source of technology company CEOs. So our alumni network is incredible as is our access to capital and advisors. So what needs to change? Resistance?? Let me end with Imprint Energy. It’s the product of a great class at Haas called Clean Tech To Market run by Beverly Alexander. Small 3D printer! They are searching for their business model. Owning, partnering, IP development, hybrid. There is no more exciting time to be an entrepreneur and no more important time to support the development of great entrepreneurs who are out there to make entrepreneurship change everything!
