In my current position as Instructional Consultant for Academic Technology at
New Mexico State University, my responsibilities include and have included the
following:
1.___Administer the most widely used application at New Mexico State
University, the learning management system Canvas
a. Average Fall/Spring Semester – 3,500 active sections (approx. 8,000 per
year), 1,600 instructors, 24,000students
b. Academic Technology office is responsible for developing reports based
on the available Canvas Analytic tools
c. Spring 2016: AT Office led the Online CourseReview of all NMSU
undergraduate online courses to provide the university Provostwith
information based on eight expectation standards
2. Provide consultation services for instructors using NMSU approved
educational technologies, such as Canvas, i>Clicker, AdobeConnect, etc.
a. online, on the phone, & F2F
3. On a daily basis, work with Canvas Supportin troubleshooting issues,
providing resolutions to faculty and students and helping Canvas Supportidentify
software bugs
4. Deliver professional development workshops for all instructors on all
campuses
a. Used QM Standards and Rubrics in the development of workshops and in
supportof the instructor’s individual courses
b. Successfully completed Applying the Quality Matters (QM) Rubric
workshop
c. Workshops Ihave created and led:
* Introduction to Canvas
* The Canvas Quiz Tool
* The Gradebookin Canvas
* Communications in Canvas (contributed)
* Using i>Clicker I & II
* Facilitating Learning with Canvas (contributed)
5. Team up with NMSU entities to supportspecial projects:
a. The WERC EnvironmentalDesign Contest
b. The Art DepartmentJuried StudentArt Show
c. UNIV 150 online course instructor training

7. Facilitate the integration of third-party LMS tools to enhance student
learning experiences. Some integrated LMS tools are:
a. i>Clicker
b. Panopto
c. AdobeConnect
d. EvaulationKit
8. Represent NMSU users on the LMS Team, a committee with membership
from the Faculty Senate, Student Technology, the Registrar’s Office, the
community colleges, technical services, and IIQ (Instructional Innovation and
Quality)
9. Collaborate with NMSU ICT (Information and Communication
Technologies) to create solutions that enhance student and instructor experiences
including:
a. SIS imports: Worked with a Banner tech to provide formatting via .CSV.
The actual creation was done by the Banner tech; we supported and tested these
imports.
b. The academic courseevaluation software called EvaluationKit
c. A customized log-in page for Learn.nmsu.edu that includes resources &
alerts
d. A system to create and continuously update course enrollments
10. Promote and supportnumerous instructional technologies such as:
a. i>Clicker - student polling software
b. Panopto – presentation recording and streaming
c. AdobeConnect – web conferencing
11. Partner with NMSU instructors on a daily basis to assist in the creation,
development, and maintenance of high quality courses that deliver enhanced
learning opportunities for New Mexico State University students
a. Using QM standards and rubrics, assist instructors with course design
b. Providing “Best Practices” guidance in regards to online teaching and
coursedesign
12. Attendee at the last three InstructureCon End-user Conferences.
13. Maintain and keep up-to-date our page learning.nmsu.edu to provide
information to faculty and students which includes FAQs on a variety of learning
tools
