Performing monthly breast self-exams, where a woman gently feels her breasts in the shower, in front of a mirror, and lying down, can help a woman find 70% of breast abnormalities, with only 20% actually being cancerous. Mammograms, a low-dose x-ray of the breasts, can also help detect early cancers when combined with self-exams. Lifestyle factors like not smoking, daily exercise, eating carotene-rich foods, and avoiding alcohol may help reduce breast cancer risk.

Signs of breast cancer may include a change in breast shape, fluid coming from the nipple, a lump in the breast,a newly-inverted nipple, or a red or scaly patch of skin. The most common types of breast cancer are Invasive lobular carcinoma and invasive ductal carcinoma.
Cancer is one of the most serious diseases women face. We urge women and female survivors to encourage one another to adopt a balanced lifestyle and to go for regular screenings in order to decrease their cancer risk or the recurrance of cancer.

A tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the tonsils. Tonsils are two small glands located in the back of your throat. Tonsils house white blood cells to help you fight infection, but sometimes the tonsils themselves become infected.
Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils that can make your tonsils swell and give you a sore throat. Frequent episodes of tonsillitis might be a reason you need to have a tonsillectomy. Other symptoms of tonsillitis include fever, trouble swallowing, and swollen glands around your neck. Your doctor may notice that your throat is red and your tonsils are covered in a whitish or yellow coating. Sometimes, the swelling can go away on its own. In other cases, antibiotics or a tonsillectomy might be necessary.
A tonsillectomy can also be a treatment for breathing problems like heavy snoring and sleep apnea.

2. BREAST SELF-EXAM

Breast Self-Exam (BSE)
• Taking a few minutes to do a breast self-exam a minimum of once a month can make a lifetime
of difference. Nearly 70% of all breast abnormalities are found through self-exams. If you find a
lump, schedule an appointment with your doctor, but don't panic—8 out of 10 lumps are not
cancerous. For additional peace of mind, call your doctor whenever you have concerns.
• HOW TO DO A BREAST SELF-EXAM
• In the Shower
• Fingers flat, move gently over every part of each breast. Use your right hand to examine the left
breast, left hand for the right breast. Check for any lump, hard knot, or thickening. Carefully
observe any changes in your breasts.
• Before a Mirror
• Inspect your breasts with your arms at your sides. Next, raise your arms high overhead.
• Look for any changes in the contour of each breast, a swelling, a dimpling of the skin, or changes
in the nipples. Then rest your palms on your hips and press firmly to flex your chest muscles.
Left and right breasts will not exactly match—few women's breasts do.
• Lying Down
• Place a pillow under your right shoulder and put your right arm behind your head. With the
fingers of your left hand flat, press your right breast gently in small circular motions, moving
vertically or in a circular pattern covering the entire breast.
• Use light, medium, and firm pressure. Squeeze the nipple; check for discharge and lumps.
Repeat these steps for your left breast.
3. MAMMOGRAM
• A mammogram is a lower dose x-ray picture,
it helps a doctor to detect early cancer and
also follow by a self- exam. Mammogram
exams doesn’t cause cancer because the
amount of radiation is low. Women should do
one every 1 to 2 years, starting at age 40.

• Eat a diet rich in carotene
