Once upon a time, there was a Big Plan. This Big Plan told us that good things would happen if we followed its instructions. All we had to do grow up, go to school, get married, have kids, and climb the corporate ladder. Sadly, the Big Plan died. It was mourned by educated men standing in the unemployment line. Oh well. It was a good run.

Facebook Marketing Model: Brand Socialization☀ Michel Demoor
While reflecting on the powerful elements that make Facebook a valuable marketing medium, I realized I was creating a model that was applicable to all social media. Looking for feedback and improvement-points I leave it here at your C-ontribution. Surprise me ;-)
Today’s shoppers are in a state of flux. They use a variation of channels to learn about products and services, to connect with brands and retailers and to compare and purchase. That is why successful retailers take a holistic omnichannel approach to Shopper Marketing: they offer their consumers a series of seamlessly integrated touchpoints, both offline and online. It’s up to the consumer how, where and when to use them. But whatever the channel or moment in their path to purchase, these consumers experience a more integrated message.
When will you seize the Omnichannel Marketing opportunity?

Having a great page still is. Great pages are mostly the work of great brands. Typical for great brands? Great content, great stories! With a focus on content and storytelling, every brand - big or small, love brand or a brand - can learn how to really differentiate. Come and discover how.

Here is a chance to create a "big idea" for your brand, which that big idea is then used through the organization. It would help frame the long range Brand Strategic Road Map, helping to frame the brand promise, strategy, story, freshness and experience behind the brand. That big idea also gets used to tell the brand's story, both internally through vision, values and behaviours, and externally by creating a brand position in the minds/hearts of consumers through mass communication, logos/packaging and the inshore experience.

PRESS RELEASE
NEW RESEARCH GETS INTO THE UNDERBELLY OF THE SHARING ECONOMY
A U.S. Study by Leo Burnett Decodes What Brands Need to Know About the Future of American Entrepreneurship
CHICAGO – A new study by global advertising agency Leo Burnett, “The Sharing Economy: Where We Go From Here,” reveals the surprising and unspoken realities of the sharing economy in America and what’s truly happening in it. The research provides insights into how people perceive, and participate in, the sharing economy.
“The sharing economy is taking on a life of its own, but it is much more nuanced than we realized,” said Chief Strategy Officer Mick McCabe, Leo Burnett USA. “Our research reveals the psychology and the behaviors of sharers that can help guide brands including why people share and why they do not.”
Sharing has more texture than what’s largely reported in the media. People are chiefly motivated by practical needs, convenience and the ability to save or make money. A nominal 35 percent of people are primarily motivated to share by altruism, community and the environment.
About Humans Being
Inspired by Leo Burnett’s HumanKind philosophy, Humans Being is a thought leadership series and ongoing exploration that pieces together the story of us. It’s a study on the changing face of humanity in culture, society, emotion, values and the human condition. We explore the intersection of where cultural trends become norms and ultimately mores. Humans Being “Sharing” follows the “Relationships” and “Technology” editions that explore the cultural and technological influences on relationships and the changing role of technology in society. Visit humansbeing.leoburnett.com for more information.

Extended Audience Engagement Recommendations for Behance, An Adobe Creative C...Ruiz McPherson Media
These slides were submitted as my Audience Engagement final for Fielding Graduate University's Audience Engagement grad school course, MSC-568-18SU1 (part of their Media Psychology program).
The slides encompass my real-world thinking in terms of persona development and audience approach strategies as they apply to Adobe's creative community, Behance.
While entirely hypothetical in so far as my recommendations here are for the purposes of a grad school assignment, they do address the current environment of Adobe's Behance (at the time of this writing) as I see it and/or have personally experienced.
If you like my ideas, please share your comments with me at mayra@ruizmcpherson.com.
Last but not least, here were my instructor's comments regarding my slide deck: "As if often the case with the best work, there is little to say. Your final project “Behance: Extended Audience Engagement Recommendations” is excellent. It was comprehensive, aesthetically stimulating, and an effective persuasive communication piece. You have done a great job in laying out the strategy and using the persona is a way that both makes sense and is effective. The personas, in particular, were incredibly well done. Appreciate the drilling down in genre first and this specific person second. Your statistics are also well placed and meaningful. Your entire project is excellent from executive summary through the before/after website shots. Nice clear design and very good navigation to take people to explore the experience of others to the lessons learned from the storyboards."

Entrepreneur's guide to building a memorable startup brandIryna Nezhynska
This guide is my contribution to the global startup community.
The goal: to change the overall early business’s mindset that branding is “always a long and expensive process that is available for big companies only”. It used to be, but it is no longer a truth. Moreover I wanted to remind startups that in the era of product overload, your success depends on how people will perceive you and what emotions will turn them into your customers.
That is why I created this step-by-step guide to building a Minimum Viable Brand for startups. It will help you to create product that people will love.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
