This study compared the maximal parameters measured from three running field tests (the Université de Montréal Track Test, the Conconi Test, and the Cooper 12-minutes test) in 19 male sports sciences students. It found that VO2max was lower for the Conconi Test compared to the other two tests. However, there were no significant differences in maximal lactate, heart rate, or perceived exertion between the tests. Total test time was longer for the Université de Montréal Track Test compared to the other two. While all three tests provide comparable measures of cardiovascular fitness, the Cooper 12-minutes test may be the most difficult to administer with physical education students.
