Bolt Charge is developing an app to enable electric car owners to reserve and pay for charging station space up to 4 hours in advance. This guarantees customers a space whenever they want, providing a stress-free charging experience. Initial calculations estimate the app could generate £165,000 in monthly revenue from a 30 minute rapid charge costing £11 and allowing 4 hours of charging.
BlaBlaCar is a long distance car sharing community, connecting drivers with empty seats and people looking for a ride. Our website and mobile apps allow drivers to publish a planned journey. Passengers can then search available offers, and get in touch with the driver of their choice.
We provide a range of features to create a secure, reliable, trust-based community and easy connections between drivers and passengers. For instance, members specify how chatty they are on the scale “Bla”, “BlaBla” and “BlaBlaBla”, hence the name BlaBlaCar. Members rate one another after travelling together, allowing them to build trusted reputations in the community, and contact details are verified.
BlaBlaCar is currently used by more than 500,000 people every month across Europe. The community, already numbering 2.5 million members, has been growing rapidly since 2009, in great part due to rising fuel costs and expensive rail fares.

SparcMotors is a startup electric vehicle company that provides its global market of commuters with a personal transportation solution that can conceal itself by taking an alternative form of disguise. We have created small electric vehicles that are able to be folded to conceal themselves as a small piece of luggage or a briefcase. SparcMotors strives to create products that truly lower the overall impact on the environment.
We are currently in the seed funding stage and our mission is to create and provide commuting solutions by the means of personal transportation that allows for fast, efficient, and sustainable commuting while being manufactured in a manor that utilizes organic based materials and new additive processes that minimize the overall environmental impact. Officially founded in January 2015 by Jonathan Peace, a graduate of Industrial and Transportation Design from Art Center College of Design, SparcMotors has been in development since the spring of 2013 with having financial support and sponsorship from several large corporations, which include General Motors, Michelin, HP, Oracle, Autodesk, and Siemens.
SparcMotors is driven to create products that solve problems that are not thought of as problems yet. With products designed for a target market that consists of commuting individuals and employees/staffs of large corporations and government agencies that have to commute to their destination. The products provided are single person electric vehicles that have on-board cargo space roughly the same size as a standard briefcase and can be folded to be concealed as rolling luggage for when the product is being towed, indoors, or stowed for charging. The product is currently in prototype development and final production design phase.

For the mass adoption of electric vehicle (EV) to become a reality, EV charging infrastructure must be made accessible, quick and reliable. Current signs indicate the sector is moving in the right direction – with China, Europe, US and Japan accelerating their charging infrastructure rollout plans, and notable charging network operators (i.e. ChargePoint, EVgo and Tritium) making billion-dollar exits.

The global pandemic has had a massive socio-economic impact on the urban mobility sector. As the government eases lockdown measures, urban mobility is becoming a huge focus of anxiety, with a large number of people considering when and how to resume travel. This implies that the transport system will have to be re-designed such that passengers are at a safe enough distance from each other. Serious questions like: will personal vehicles become the safest means to travel? What about the safety of people who cannot afford personal vehicles? What will happen to the present mode of public transport, will need answers.
This report titled, “Resetting for Urban Mobility 2020+ in India” discusses challenges brought in the urban mobility space by the COVID-19 pandemic. The document highlights the key measures to be taken at both the government and individual levels as public
transportation across the globe begins to unlock. Viewpoints from London, Singapore, and India – on the future of urban planning and public transport in response to the ongoing pandemic have also been discussed in this document. Experts from these counties contribute to a deeper understanding of safety measures adopted.
These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course on Business Models at National University of Singapore to analyze the business model for a fictitious alliance between Qualcomm and Bosch. Together, these firms can create a dense network of wireless charging stations that can enable the use of inexpensive electric vehicles. The dense network of charging stations reduces the importance of range and thus the weight, volume, and cost of batteries that are needed to propel the vehicle. The slides describe the value proposition, method of value capture, customers, scope of activities, and method of strategic control for Q-Bo, a fictitious alliance between Qualcomm and Bosch.

Real world versus vitrual world data, Joseph Borza Founder of Energy Elephant...Dublinked .
• Joseph Borza is founder of the awarding winning Irish tech start-up EnergyElephant.
• He is a chartered engineer and has over a decade of experience working in the energy and environment sectors in Ireland and abroad.
• He is an active and passionate member of Dublin's startup community and has worked on numerous research, development and deployment projects.
Joseph's presentation introduces EnergyElephant, the startup that focuses on making sense of energy data, quickly and easily. From multinational organisations to residential homes, EnergyElephant has analysed several data sets to ascertain the "smartable" demand of these entities. Today, over 60% of Irish electricity demand can come from intermittent energy sources, and matching this generation with smartable demand will be one of the greatest challenges for the Irish energy system in the years ahead.
In this presentation, Steve Heinz discusses the pros and cons of receiving electronic billing data.
Steve Heinz is a Professional Engineer and Certified Energy Manager, and is the Founder and CEO of EnergyCAP, Inc.
