Measures of Central Tendency: Mean, Median and Mode
Body fluids and blood - Human Anatomy and Physiology 1st
1.
2. BODY FLUIDS
▪ Body fluid are the fluids inside the body of living organisms which surve as a medium gor
carry nutrients to and/or based products from the cells..
▪ It is a medium for carried chemicals communicators .. Ex : for the body blood are – 01.
interstitial fluids.
▪ 02. blood plasma.
▪ 03. urine.
▪ 04.lymph. Etc..
▪ These fluids are categorized in two broad groups –
▪ [a]. Extra cellular fluids.
▪ [b]. Intracellular fluids..
3. ▪Extra cellular fluids – all the fluids outside the cell are
called as extra cellular fluids .These fluids consists 20% of
the body weight 14 lit. in normal 70 kg adult..
▪Intra cellular fluids - all the fluids inside the
cells are called as intracellular fluids . It
consists 40% of total body weight in an
average adult..
4. COMPOSITION OF BLOOD -
▪ Blood is a fluids connective tissues consisting about 7% of toatal body weight…
▪ 01. Plasma- a fluid in which peripheral blood cells are suspended is known
as “plasma”..
▪ It composed of water , electrolyte such albolene and fibrinogens..
▪ The normal value is 40ml/kg of body weight..
5. ▪02. blood vessels [formed elements ] =
▪ - erythrocytes -
▪they about 40-45 % of total blood volume ..
▪ - leukocytes –
▪They make up about 1-2% of total blood volume..
6. ▪Leukocytes are also known as white blood cells .
They can be divided into granulocytes and
agranulocytes.
▪Granulocytes consists of neutrophils , eosinophils,
and basophils..
▪Agranulocytes consists lymphocytes and
monocytes..
7. GRANULOCYTES
▪ 01. Neutrophils – it is also called as polymorphonuclear (PMN), because they have variety of nuclear
shapes..
▪ Life span – 1-4 days..
▪ It consists about 50-75% of white blood cells..
▪ Functions - it important role in destruction of bacteria and nuclear shapes..
▪ 02. Eosinophils – it is neutrophils (12-15 micrometer in diameter )..
▪ They consists about 1-3% of total white blood cells..
▪ Function – it’s function is not clear but they are primary indicator of any allergic reaction..
▪ 03. Basophils - it is measure about 9-10 micrometer in diameter..
▪ They consists about 0.5 -1% , these are least granulocytes..
▪ Functions - it important role in inflammation and allergic reaction ..
8. ▪ lymphocytes – it is smallest leukocytes..
▪ 01.T-lymphocytes
▪ 02. B -lymphocytes.
▪ it measure about 6-12 micrometer in diameter..
▪ Monocytes – it is the largest leukocytes..
▪ It measure about 12-15 micrometer in diameter..
9. PLATELETS
▪ These are biconvex , non nucleated disc.
▪ It measure about 2-5 micrometer in diameter..
▪ Life span - 7-10 days..
▪ Functions =
▪ Blood contain 1.5-3.5 lack platelets per mmq ..
▪ These are derived from bone merrow ..
10. FUNCTION OF BLOOD
▪ 01. transport oxygen and nutrients to the lungs and tissues..
▪ 02. carrying cells and antibodies that fight infections..
▪ 03. regulating body temperature..
▪ 04. bringing waste products to the kidneys and liver , which filter and clean the
blood..
▪ 05. platelets factors initiante blood clotting and help minimize blood loss.
