BlueMix is an IBM Platform as a Service cloud based on Cloud Foundry that provides enterprise-grade services and IBM software hosted on Softlayer infrastructure. It allows developers to build and host applications using popular languages like Java, Python, PHP and Go, and also provides a broader range of services compared to other PaaS offerings. The presentation discusses how BlueMix leverages Cloud Foundry to deploy and run applications in a container-based environment with services like databases accessible to apps.
