Blue-eyed/Brown-eyed Experiment
This video was an extreme eye opener to me as it showed me how African Americans get
treated on a daily basis. I am bi-racial-my mother is white and my father is African-American.
Since I am so light, no one can tell that I am. Therefore, I do not get treated as others do. This
video had so many turning points for me. One thing that I could not understand is how the blueeyed students who knew this was an experiment still acted the way that they did. The teacher was
treating them bad to prove a point so I don’t understand why they got so emotional towards her.
Another turning point for me was when a blue-eyed student stated that the stages of grief are the
same as the stages of power, which as she said, is very sick. After the experiment was over, I
realized that many of those students learned a lot, as did I. Although, I realized that the sad thing
is that many students face the problem of racism in everyday life. The thought of this is
unbearable to me as no one should be treated like that no matter what their skin color is.
