Gun Control Opinion
After researching both sides of the gun control issue, I feel that I have an opinion that has
facts to back it up. Something that I kept reading about from both sides is that they both imply
that gun violence needs to decrease. To me, gun violence is a major issue that needs to be
stopped. Yes, I do agree that innocent and law abiding citizens should be able to protect
themselves and their families, but we need to control how easy it is to access guns. I feel that
there should be more background checks put in place especially at gun shows. Not only that, but
we should put a limit to what kind of guns people can own. I don’t see any reason why someone
would need assault weapons unless they were at war. I definitely don’t agree that teachers should
have guns in the classrooms because a child could access it or anyone else. The answer to
controlling gun violence is not adding more guns to the equation. That would just raise the gun
violence statistics. All in all, we just need to be more cautious about who is able to own guns and
keep them out of the hands of irresponsible people.
