Obituary
Mahalie Paige Hargis, 18, of West Hamlin, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2081.
She was born in Huntington, WV, on July 27, 1995. Mahalie graduated from Lincoln County
High School and received a degree in exercise science from Marshall University in 2016 and
married the Cody Schmidt.
Mahalie competed in beauty pageants for years and won numerous titles, including Miss West
Virginia USA. She passed as she went to sleep one night warm in her bed. It was a very peaceful
passing.
Mahalie is survived by three children; Jane Lou; John Michael; and Gracie Anne.
A viewing will be held at McComasFuneral home at 7 p.m. on Friday. The funeral will take
place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with the burial immediately following.
