Blog
• The word blog is a shortened form of Web log or Weblog;
estimates suggest that there are over 70 million blogs.
• One way to start your own blog is through:
– WordPress (www.wordpress.com)
– Blogger (www.blogger.com)
– Tumblr (www.tumblr.com)
• Another drag-n-drop site design and hosting service that goes
beyond the blog is Squarespace (www.squarespace.com)
• A blog is a Web-based journal in which “bloggers” can post
entries (displayed from the most recent to the initial posting)
that express opinions, provide information, and respond to
other bloggers on subjects of mutual interest.

Blog
• A blog is a Web site with journal entries on any imaginable
topic usually written by one person, although some blogs
feature multiple commentators.
• Typically, readers leave feedback.
• The biggest advantage of business blogs is that they potentially
reach a far-flung, vast audience.
Blogs are online journals used
by companies to communicate
internally with employees and
externally with customers.

How to Decrease Email Overwhelm in 2016–The First Step
“A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone.”
– Henry David Thoreau
I’m often asked how to handle email overwhelm. While I do use some great
apps to help stem the flood, the most important shield is still low-tech:
a rock-solid email auto responder. This tool allows you to ignore some or all
correspondence. Answering every inbound email faster might seem like the
cure-all,
but it’s a Pyric victory. Robert Scoble observed long ago what is now standard:
for each email he responds to, he gets ~1.75 in response! It’s an unwinnable
game of whack amole. The only sustainable solutions involve selective
ignorance.
Step 1: Answer fewer email
(or “Ignore more email”).
Step 2: Give your email address to fewer people (or “Use a decoy email that
goes to your assistant”).
