Black widows live in various regions including Australia, Florida, Southeastern USA, Canada, and Oklahoma. They eat insects like fire ants, beetles, June bugs, and grasshoppers. Female black widows lay 30 eggs but the babies often eat each other due to a lack of proper shelter and food from the mother. Black widows are able to survive through hibernation, irregular web spinning, biting humans for defense, and locating webs in protected areas. They are considered one of the most dangerous spiders in North America.
