Meredith: First thing you have to do is be strong. When your marriage falls apart, remember that
you can still count on me. I can help you of course. But for the time being, don t focus on what
you are going to do when your marriage falls apart. Focus instead on the things you have to do to
keep your marriage from falling apart.
Eddielaine: You speak as if doing that is easy. Well, it s not.
Meredith: I know. You just have to try hard.
Eddielaine: Well, I ve got to go. It s already 11:00 p.m., and my husband will probably be worried

Rebecca Haidt s Women, Work And Clothing
Rebecca Haidt s Women, work and clothing in eighteenth century Spain is a nine chapter book that
shows and explains the history of how clothing was able to hit all corners of Spanish society of the
18th century. She reveals what the women did to get the clothing they wore, even if it was trading,
barging, stealing, selling, and creating garments that marked their social status in their society they
were living in. The author also goes in each chapter about the depection of them in the theater. She
has a Dedication, List of Illustrations, and Acknowledgements before the Introduction chapter out
of the nine chaptersof the main book. After the conclusion there is a Bibliography and an Index.

Castilla. She had to restrict to it these two areas because in her own words, ... In part because the

The Upper Of The Body Is Defined As Beginning At The Cervical
Backround The upper quarter of the human body is defined as beginning at the cervical region,
continuing to the shoulder girdle, elbow, wrist, and digits (Hand Therapy Certification
Commission, 2002). The upper extremity is used for physical interaction with the world that
surrounds an individual, allowing function, production, expression, and independence in daily
activities as one moves through the life span (Mayo Clinic, 2014; Meyer, 2003). The frequent use
of the upper quarter increases risk for traumatic injury, but also strain to the area, as is indicated by
more than half of individuals over the age of 55 showing radiographical evidence of osteoarthritis
in at least one hand (Dahaghin, Bierma Zeinsta, Reijman, Pols, Hazes, Koes, 2005). Despite the
commonality of referrals to hand therapists to facilitate recovery of upper quarter injuries or
conditions, the literature outlines that objective, functional, and in some cases psychological
deficits remain for many patients past the point of discharge. When assessing recovery from a
spectrum of conditions and injuries literature suggests objective measures, such as grip strength and
/or range of motion, within in large percentages of patients, are significantly decreased compared to
the unaffected limb or standardized norms at both discharge and follow up visits (Poole,
Santhanam, Latham, 2012; Macdermid, Richards, Roth, 2001; Wilcke, Abbaszadegan, Adolphson,
2007). It has also been surmised that deficits in

Essay about Audism Unveiled
Audism Unveiled
Audism by it s very definition is a negative or oppressive attitude towards deaf people by either
deaf or hearing people and organizations, and a failure to accommodate them. This documentary
really opened my eyes as to what deaf people have gone through since the beginning of time. They
have been treated with prejudice and oppression. They have been looked down upon as if they are
some sort of subhuman not worthy of being classified as a normal person because of the fact that
they cannot hear. Audism goes under the same category as racism, sexism, discrimination, etc. In
the movie, Audism Unveiled, they were many testimonials of different deaf people explaining their
stories of oppression simply because of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, he is an advocate for parents of deaf children to learn sign language so that no one would
ever have to experience what he had to. I think that all parents with deaf children should embrace
their child and their new culture and learn the language that is most easy for their child to
communicate in. Most deaf children feel lonely and abandoned from their families because no
one ever bothers to include them into family conversations. Whenever the deaf person would ask
what s going on, they would say Oh we ll tell you later. Always the same thing and deaf people are
tired of it. They want to know now and be included! It s not fair that they have to be left out just
because they re deaf. It causes depression and resentment in the deaf person when the family
constantly excludes the deaf family member. In some situations, deafness was viewed as evil. One
man said that his aunt told him that he must have been a bad man in his past life and as
punishment, he was born deaf in this life time. Hearing people do view being deaf as a misfortune,
but that does not justify the way that they get treated by hearing people. I think it s horrible how
they are viewed as unable. I would hate to imagine someone treating me like I m not able because I
m Hispanic or because I m gay. It would tear me apart and I m sure most deaf people feel the same
way. Audism needs to be a bigger issue among hearing people and they need to know that being
deaf is not a handicap, deaf

Dry Pasta
The purpose I present about this topic is to introduce and help everyone to gain further knowledge
about pasta. Although everyone know what is pasta, and eats pasta, but I am sure that anyone of us
do not know what the actual history of pasta is. Furthermore, I will also explain the benefits of
pasta, pastashapes, recommendation of sauces for different types of pasta, and the basic way of
cooking pasta.
Pasta is an Italian food made from dough using flour, water and eggs. When talking about the
origin of pasta, a distinction needs to be made between fresh and dry pasta. Fresh pasta is dough
made of flour and water and is present in most cultures and on all continents. Dry pasta began in
Italy and embarked from there to conquer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pasta has evolved, over its history, into a great number of shapes and varieties. The names of some
of the shapes vary according to area, and sometimes the same name applies in different areas to
different shapes.
A few examples include: Spaghetti is long, thin, cylindrical pasta of Italian origin. Macaroni is a
kind of moderately extended, machine made dry pasta. Much shorter than spaghetti, and hollow,
macaroni does not contain eggs. Fusilli, a spiral shaped pasta, also called corkscrew pasta, is
usually about four centimeters long. Fusilli is almost identical to another shaped pasta called
rotini. They both have a spiral shape, but rotini is slightly larger, thicker and curlier. Lasanum is a
form of pasta in sheets, made with alternate layers of pasta, cheese, and meat sauce or tomato sauce.
When making delicious pasta dishes, be sure to choose a pasta shape and sauce that complement
each other.
For example, delicate pasta like angel hair or thin spaghetti should be served with light, thin
sauces. Thicker pasta shapes, like fettuccine, work well with heavier sauces. Pasta shapes with
holes or ridges like mostaccioli or radiatore are perfect for chunkier sauces.
Pasta, by itself, is a nutritious food, an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, an important
contributor of protein, B vitamins, and iron. It contains almost no fat, cholesterol, or sodium good

Social Media And Its Impact On School And College Students

modem of communication. People from distance places get connected with each other which
has made has the world smaller virtually. Today it has been possible for me to know about family
and friends being abroad. With over 1 billion user, Facebook has become the most popular sites
among all the social media sites. Facebook is a site where people get to share their feelings.
People of different age group and use Facebook for different purpose reflecting different
personalities. First of all, the school and college students use Facebook for entertainment. This
site has major impact on school and college students. Today we can see every teenager carrying a

gain attention. We can see pictures, videos, comment, and status of these people who have not
seen the world yet, and think that they know everything about life and things around them. For
instance, we can see a 14 years old posting about life. Similarly, some of the students use
Facebook as a dating site. They add people and start taking to them. After some time, we usually
see those people uploading photos with their girlfriend or boyfriend and after a week getting
separated. The people of this age group use face book to show themselves how popular they are.

The South Will Rise Again
Southern Pride You would be hard pressed to find any Southerner who does not know and
understand the sentiment behind the statement, The South will rise again. The South is a region
within the United States that does not follow the generalized American rule. In an effort to identify
what makes the South a distinctive region, one must explore the comparisons of culture, education,
racism, religion, and identity of the South and its people to the rest of America. Through the use of
a wide variety of statistics and comprehensive comparisons, it is possible to understand why
Southerners feel it is important to protect and preserve their heritage from what they consider to be
attacks from outsiders. While the South has experienced many... Show more content on

The South fought the American Civil War as a movement to separate themselves from the Union
and establish its own national citizenship. As a result of their resounding loss, Southerners chose to
focus their energies on maintaining their individual ethnic group which sets them apart from the
rest of the nation. According to John Shelton Reed, author of The Enduring South, The three
functional characteristics of an ethnic group are that: It serves psychologically as a source of group
identification; it provides a pattern network of groups; and it refracts the national cultural patterns
of behavior and values through the prism of its own cultural heritage. Reed allows his readers to
grasp the intensity in which Southerners met, and still meet today, all three of the functional
characteristics of an ethnic group. Throughout his book, Reed purposes to enlighten the reader that
Southern ness is attained by three different measures: birth, achievement, or unwilling thrust (such
as the African Americans who were brought to America under duress). The Enduring South exposes
the element of Southern identity as pride in its heritage, culture, customs, and ideals. The South, as
it has been nationally defined, is referred to as the eleven ex Confederate states, with the additions
of Oklahoma and Kentucky; and the rest of America is referred to as non Southerners. As a means
of maintaining an accurate collection of data, Reed uses the nationally acclaimed

Compare And Contrast The Four Contemporary Management...
There are four known contemporary management approaches that include: sociotechnical theory,
organizational behavior, quantitative management and systems theory. These management
approaches are essential in analyzing the different organizational environments, including internal,
macro and competitive environments. This paper will look at the different contemporary
managementapproaches, define open systems and describe the internal, macro and competitive
organizational environments. It will also indicate whether or not the four contemporary approaches
to management are relevant in the above stated environments.
Sociotechnical is the first contemporary management approach. It is thought that success in each
and every organization comes when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this approach, how the manager treats employees signifies the expected behavior of the
employees. Hence, if he sees them as ineffective, then they will be ineffective (Gupta, 2009).
There is also the systems theory approach to contemporary management. This approach focuses on
the relationship that exists between the organization and the general public. It defines an
organization as a system that is either closed or open, but in most cases open. In that regard, an
open system is defined as an organizational interaction with its own environment by way of inputs
and its outputs. Therefore, it can be said that the environment impacts on the organization while the
organization also has an impact on the environment.
There are three environments that are essential to the organization and they are: the internal, macro
and the competitive environments. These environments together with the open systems are vital
parts of an organization that should be considered in the determining the approach to adopt
(Wetherly Otter, 2014). The internal environment can be described as all the forces that are within
the organization that impacts on the organization. The internal environment incorporates all the
managers, workers and the resources that the organization has to assist in the daily operations. The

Describe The Main Functions Of The Trachea
The nose and the nasal cavity form the main external opening for air to come through. The air that
comes through is warmed and filtered by the mucus.
The mouth is the secondary external opening for the respiratory tract. It does not have the hair and
sticky mucus that filter air passing through the nasal cavity but its shorter distance and bigger space
allows more air to quickly enter the body.
The nasal cavity is a hollow space within the nose and skull that is lined with hairs and mucus
membrane. The nasal cavity warms, moisturizes, and filters air that enters the body. Hairs and
mucus inside the nasal cavity also help to trap dust before it enters the body.
The air that we breathe in through the nose or mouth, travels through the larynx, down the
windpipe, and then into the lungs. The larynx contains muscle called vocal cords. When we try to
speak, the cords come together, and vibrate as we breathe out. This is what gives us our voice. ...

The main function of the bronchi and bronchioles is to carry air from the trachea into the lungs.
The bronchi and bronchioles also use the mucus and cilia to trap and move dust and other filth

The alveoli are surrounded by capillaries and can be found at the end of the terminal bronchioles.
The main function of the alveoli is gas exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. The oxygen that is
inhaled goes through the alveoli s walls into the red blood cells which then carry it to the tissues.
The diaphragm is the main muscle of respiration. Contraction of the diaphragm muscle expands the

the Reconstruction period of America. In Beloved we follow the life of Sethe along with her

Effects Of Heat Illness On High School Athletes
Chapter 1: Introduction
In 2004, heat illness was the third leading cause of death in high school athletes.1 When playing
outdoors in hot and humid environments, children are at higher risk for heat illness compared to
adults. Heat illness includes multiple levels of severity, ranging from typically manageable heat
cramps to a life threatening heat stroke.2 Pre pubescent children have immature thermoregulatory
systems and they have a higher sweat threshold due to their smaller sweat glands. Their body
surface area to mass ratio is higher than adults, increasing their absorption of heat. It is crucial to
monitor and control body temperature and hydration status, particularly in these situations.3
Previous Research
The American Academy of Pediatrics has created a climatic guide of temperature in combination
with relative humidity to determine safe conditions and dangerous conditions. The policy includes
information for parents, coaches, and pediatricians about how to monitor for signs and symptoms
of a heat illness. One main recommendation is to avoid exercise during the hottest parts of the day,
yet this is not always feasible when participating in organized outdoor sports, like a tournament or
a meet that lasts all day. Children are at a high risk for overexertion with inadequate rehydration. If
adults are not informed of these dangers and children are not monitored during physical activity,
they are at a much higher risk for heat illness, especially during hot and

Analysis Of The Half-Mammals Of Dixie, By George Singleton
South Carolina is too small for a republic and too large for an insane asylum, James Lewis
Petigru is a perfect quote to describe The Half Mammals of Dixie by George Singleton. We will
explore how much the characters in the story would make per year, try to determine their cost of
living and look at how the depressed southern economyplays a role on the rone of these stories.
Economicsand a time of depression had to play a big part in why Singleton chose to write these
stories the way he did so by going over the short stories Fossils and Bank of America we will get
a better understanding of how big the economic impact really was. Fossils by George Singleton
tells the story of a young boy named Compton and his father during the 1970 s. Compton was
attending a school that was going through the racial integration process. Compton s father was anti
racismand was trying to prevent a racist man in town, Mr. Dorne from keeping the news of the
outside world from the people of the town. Compton says, So my father maybe the only man in
town in favor of integration responded in the only way he knew how. He awoke me at midnight.
(Singleton, 20) Takes his son on a journey to fight racism in their small town attacking Mr.
Dorne who is a part of the KKK. Compton says, I tiptoed to what used to be a guest bedroom,
where he now slept, and of course didn t find him there (Singleton 34). Although it never says
exactly what his father s profession is in the story it does make several mentions to him tearing
down buildings so maybe he works construction but it would seem that his profession allows him
to own a three bedroom home, afford to take care of his son Compton and own a car all on his
own. Based on the research and the assumption that Compton s father was middle class he
probably made around ten thousand per year. Bank of America by George Singleton is about 4
childhood friends, who at the time of the story are all grown up and coming back to their childhood
treehouse to drink, hunt, fish and talk about their lives past and present. The main characters have a
vast employment span between them, Russel the carpenter, Dean the banker, Evan the English
professor and me, (Singleton, 139) Some of the

Theatre Evaluation
The world of Theatre allows people from all around the world an outlet to express themselves and
convey a message or tell a story. The question as to what the ideal theatre performance would be
from an audience s perspective ultimately depends on many different factors; including age, culture,
traditions, preferences etc. However, for me personally as a member of the audienceI would want to
see several different elements incorporated into the show and ultimately I would want a clear
concreate story line to follow.
First and foremost I would want the location of the show to be in an open arena stage. Not only
because of the practicality of this type of location but also because it offers an almost aerial view,
depending on where your sitting at the performance. Plus, the audience gets more of an
immersion into the show with this setup as well. Considering the fact that they nearly surround
the actors on all four sides. Allowing for multiple focal points on the stage, giving each individual
member of the audience their own preference as to what or who they want to observe. In this
setting I would like to see a Melodrama being performed that incorporates a broad display of

performance, adding the crucial amount of sinister drama to the villain or heavenly light to the
hero. These elements I would want to be used in a very thoughtful consistent manner. For example,
a harp should play every time the female love interest appears or the villain s entrance should be

Loyalty In King Lear
King Lear by William Shakespeare is the play that I have studied in the course and it is one of
William Shakespeare famous play. I found that this play is very interesting and I am impressed
by one of the protagonists in the play, The Earl of Kent. The Earl of Kent is one of the main
characters in the play and serves the role of Earl to King Lear. He demonstrates extraordinary
loyalty throughout the play. First and foremost, Kent speaks up whenever he see Lear acting in
a way that will do him no good. At the beginning of the play, when King Lear is going to disown
Cordelia, Kent is the only one who trying to stop King Lear by saying Good my liege . Besides
that, Kent stands up and urges King Lear, Reverse thy doom, And in thy best consideration check
this hideous rashness. Kent asks King Lear to reverse his foolish decision to disown the only
loving and loyal daughter, Cordelia. In addition, Kent also tells King Lear, Thy youngest daughter
does not lovethee least, Nor are those empty hearted whose low sound. Kent points out that
Cordelia loves Lear the most, and he can see that Goneril and Regan are empty hearted and their
flattering words mean nothing. As a consequence of speaking out all the truths, Kent is banished by

A Dog Is A Man s Best Friend
Over the years it has been said that a dog is a man s best friend. A friend that has been
domesticated ever since the beginning of time, bringing about many different breeds throughout
the world from Affenpinscher to Yorkshire Terrier. The connections received from these loyal
animals have proven to be a huge benefit physically, emotionally, and socially. It is no surprise
that we have trained dogs to perform complex tricks to entertain the public or train them to save
lives. Dogs that are trained to assist people with disabilities such as visual impairment, post
traumatic stress disorder, diabetes, seizure disorder, mental illness, and mobility impairment are
called service dogs.
However, certain dogs have been excluded as service dogs because of being labeled as the
dangerous breed. Some dangerous breeds should not be excluded from being trained to do the same
job as other breeds that are considered safe breeds. A service dogis a regular everyday dog that was
trained to perform tasks to help people with disabilities. People already feel that there are only
specific breeds such as Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, or German Shepherds that can be
service dogs. However, this is not factual according to the Fair Housing Act. Breed, size, and weight
limitations may not be applied to an assistance animal. (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban

to the learning ability which will affect their competitiveness in the society. Sufferers, who are still

The Importance Of Art Therapy
Art therapy involves using art to facilitate discussion with an art psychotherapist or therapist, using
art materials that can help express thoughts and feelings. It also can provide another way of
communicating when it is hard to talk. There is no need to be good at art; the aim is not to
improve your skills. In art therapy, you will have time to talk and think about your difficulties with
the art psychotherapist or therapist, and it may help you to understand yourself better, gain
insight and for change to occur. Art therapy is the use of the visual arts and the creative process
within a therapeutic relationship to support and maintain the psychological and physical health of
individuals of all ages. It is based on research that art making is a health enhancing practice that
positively impacts the quality of life. Art therapists are credited professionals who use specific art
based approaches with children, adults, groups and families. To support and maintain a quality of
life. The foundation of art therapy is most closely linked to psychoanalysis, that images come
from the unconscious. Art therapy is a clinical treatment which aims to help clients explore
personal issues within a safe and supportive framework, to resolve emotional, psychological and
relationship difficulties. The use of art materials is a form of non verbal communication enabling
people to express and explore feelings which are very difficult and in some cases impossible to
convey through verbal language.

Julius Caesar Contributions
Julius Caesar Julius Caesar was a roman politician and general, who led a big role in the events
that demised the Roman Republic that led to the beginning of the Roman Empire. Julius Caesar
was born on the 12th of July, 100 BCE, into a noble family. His father was a Praetor who
governed the province in Asia, but at the age of 16, his father died and he became the head of

became the High Priest of Jupiter. He later had complications with the government and personal
life, because he had married a woman named Cornelia, whose father was the general and

A Project Of The World Bank Essay
The World Bank Group has set two goals for the world to achieve by 2030: To end extreme
poverty by decreasing the percentage of people living on less than $1.90 a day to no more than
3% and to promote shared prosperity by fostering the income growth of the bottom 40% for every
country, which the organization is trying to achieve via low interest loans, zero to low interest
credits, and grants to developing countries ( What We Do, n.d.). The World Bank

for a World Free of Poverty with the caveat of do no harm ; however, what is left in their wake in
many cases is heartbreak and devastation. My task with this paper is to address a project of the
World Bank in Nigeria that created problems for the nation, and especially the people therein, that
received its assistance.
If you love your life, move out! the officers shouted (Chavkin, Hallman, Hudson, Schilis Gallego,
Shifflett, 2015). These are the only kind words these 9,000 residents will hear as they carry
what belongings they can away from their homes ( Nigeria, 2014). I speak of the tragedy of
Badia East, a slum within Lagos, Nigeria. The state government chose to clear the area for an
urban renewal zone financed by the World Bank (Chavkin et al., 2015). These people were thrown
into the elements with no food, shelter, or any plan for the future. In my research I found an article

Essay on A poem and a loaded gun
A Poem and a Loaded Gun
The post civil war era was wrought with sexism and backwards thinking. Emily Dickinson was
born in 1830, wrote 1800 poems in her lifetime. She has become known for unfolding the social
boundaries surrounding women in this time period. Most of her life was shrouded in seclusion
and mystery. In the realm of poetry, authors are creative with their usage of literary techniques in
order to illustrate their point of view to the reader. Emily Dickinson is especially known for her
precise diction, powerful imagery, and obscure timing or rhythm. In her poem My life had stood A

The faster pace and constant beats provide for a significant change from the broken up stand still
qualities of the first stanza. The mood portrayed here is that of eventfulness, even usefulness, it is
apparent that the speaker feels more fulfilled or somehow more whole.
Also in the second stanza the author introduces the theme of unity between speaker and master by
use of her diction. Albert Gelpi, anther notable critic of Dickinson s work, points out that already by
the second stanza I and he have become we ...the rhythm and repetition underscoring the
momentous change of identity. By doing this the author introduces the theme of possession vs.
possessed and the inherent contradiction of the concept, referencing the fact that one cannot be
without the other.
The second notable use of interesting diction can be found in the speaker s description of her
smile. She compares her smile to the aftermath of a volcanic eruption. This notable according to
Christine Miller, a notable commentator of Dickinson s work, because she does not compare it to
an event but to a completed action. She says the past perfect verb is more chilling than the present
tense would be. Miller notes this same technique later in the poem when the speaker describes

Examples Of Personality Development In Frankenstein
Personality Development: Nature Versus Nurture As Seen In Frankenstein Nature versus nurture,
an ongoing controversy in modern psychology, is a prominent theme in Frankenstein. For centuries,
psychologists and philosophers have been arguing about the basis of personality development and
social integration. Many psychologists adopt a biological or natural approach, believing that
personality development is a result of individual genetics. Alternatively, other psychologists believe
in an environmental approach, which states that an individual will learn how to act based on their
life circumstances, surroundings, and interactions. In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley successfully
validates the nurture side of this debate through her explanation the monster s personality
development; although he was born with the natural desire to be gentle and kind, he eventually
became a vicious monster because of constant rejection, which can wreak havoc on people and turn
them into violent and even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even nowadays, psychologists and researchers are studying this correlation. In fact, many recent
case studies indicate that school shootings were a result of rejection. Although this seems highly
unusual and extreme, in an examination of fifteen school shootings between 1995 and 2001, the
attackers in almost every case faced some kind of social rejection, with the exception of only two
out of the fifteen. In one particularly frightening school shooting in 1997 in West Paducah,
Kentucky, the shooter was clearly teased, rejected and bullied. After his arrest, he declared that he
had grown tired of being teased and was quoted as saying, people respect me now. (Leary et al.).
Furthermore, constant rejection causes the victim to feel threatened, which gives them an urge to

Funding is also getting tighter in the current economic climate. Innovation may be linked to
positive changes in efficiency, productivity, quality and competitiveness, among other factors.
Benefits of innovation could be the improvement in the workforce. By improving the workforce
an organisation will benefit from increased productivity and improved morale and lower staff
turnover. Employees will feel more valued which therefore increases motivation. This is
beneficial to employers because it provides the organisation with knowledgeable, reliable staff
who will have a more positive contribution to the needs of the organisation. Staff are a valuable
source of innovation, even if it is not expected as a major part of their job. An innovative work
environment means being creative and try new techniques. As Albert Einstein said if you always
do what you ve always done, you will get what you ve always got. A benefit of change in the
organisation would be it promotes creative ways of thinking, so that ideas can be developed to
keep the organisation fresh and exciting. Change breaks monotony so that people are re energised
and so the interest in the job increases. Change in the workforce brings out the true colours of

The Corruption Of Fathers In Shakespeare s Plays
The Father s in Shakespeare s plays are in a way different than their daughter s. They often tend to

Whitman s Essay When I Heard The Learn D Astronomer
A poet who would agree with Albert Einstein statement of Education is not the learning of facts, but
the training of the mind to think is Walt Whitman. For in his poem When I Heard the Learn d
Astronomer he has his speaker try to learn through education then experience. Walt Whitman first
presents to our readers to a speaker who wants to learn astronomy and attends a lecture. By doing
this, Walt Whitmanwants to illustrate the disadvantages of education and how it solely relies on
numbers and diagrams. Walt Whitman wants to emphasize the value of experience in his poem
through his use of imagery, sound, and syntax.
Through his writing, Walt Whitman tries to have his readers understand his statement by giving
the reader the ability to relate. In his poem When I Heard the Learn d Astronomer he has his
speaker in an educational setting listening to an astronomer give a lecture about astronomy. This
setting is easy to imagine and effective. The speakers describe that proofs (2), and figures (2)

of commas for it was included in every line except of course for the last one. Walt Whitman did

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Multiprocessor Operating...
Multiprocessor Operating Systems
Multiprocessing is a mode of operation in which two or more processors in a computer
simultaneously process two or more different portions of the same program or set of instructions.
Multiprocessing refers to a computer system s ability to support more than one process or program
at the same time. Multiprocessing operating systems enable several programs to run parallel
(Hosch). It is typically carried out by two or more microprocessors, each of which is in a central
processing unit (CPU) on a single tiny chip. Supercomputers typically combine thousands of such
microprocessors to interpret and execute instructions. UNIX is one of the most broadly used
multiprocessing systems used today; others include OS/2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If one processor fails, the failure may slow down the entire system. Another disadvantage would
be the initial cost. Although money is being saved in the long run, the initial price is an
investment in the beginning. Multiprocessors need to be specifically designed to work with
operating systems and programs, which could leave to chance that the software being used may
only use a single processor, regardless of how ever many there are in the system itself. Another
common occurs with multiprocessor server boards when processors are installed that are
designed to use different clocking speeds. To expect multiprocessors to work properly together,
they should have identical speed ratings. Although it s possible that in some cases a faster
processor can be clocked down to work in the system, problems normally occurring between
mismatched processors will cause operational glitches beyond the tolerance of server networks.
The safest approach with multiprocessor server boards is to install processors that are guaranteed
by their manufacturer to work together. These will generally be matched according to their family,
model, and stepping version (Marcraft International). Latency and overhead are also some
drawbacks to having a multiprocessing unit because of the time wasted and the time delay in
achieving or initiating the client s processing

The Musuo Of Chin Matrilineal Kinship
The Musuo of China: Matrilineal Kinship The practice of matrilineal kinship is considered a myth
by some cultures, but it is indeed very real for the Musuo of China. Matrilineality is the practice of
linear descent through the ancestry of females. Many Western civilizations have a misconception of
what is considered normal on a global scale, but many practices do, in fact, differ widely between
different cultures. To illustrate this, the Musuo s traditions and values in regards to marriageand
familyare based solely on matrilineal kinship, while America s melting pot ideation encourages
unilineal descent, in which the ancestry line can be traced to the wife and/or the husband. In the
paper I will discuss the cultural nature of the Musuo, and the way that marriage and family norms
in Musuo differ from the typical American ideation of family. One indication that Musuo traditions
differ from the American culture in terms of marriage is the lack of a formal union between wife
and husband, as well as the American idea of father and child. According their article Land of the
Walking Marriage (2000), Lu Yuan and Sam Mitchell explain that Musuo fathers do not raise their
own children, but instead cater to their sister s children s needs. American cultural norms include
the belief that blood relatives have a biological attachment to each other, which makes this type of
kinship unacceptable to many conservative minded Americans. Moreover, the dynamics of marital

The Pros And Cons Of Capital Punishment
The death penalty is put into place when a person of some sort commits murder or rape or
something to an extreme extent, is lethally injected and put to death because of the crime.
To put it in perspective think about it this way, you re a thirty four year old with a spouse, and
three young children, a man the age of sixty seven brutally murders your spouse, would you want
that man to spend the rest of his life with a roof over his head and three square meals a day, or
would you prefer he be lethally injected and slowly and put to sleep? Although there are many
reasons to stick with a life sentence for criminals, there are even more reasons to implement capital
punishment, or the death penalty.
The history of the death penalty, or capital punishment dates all the way back to colonial times,
when the Europeans came to the new world. One of the first executions on record was Captain
George Kendall in 1612. Kendall was executed for being a spy for Spain.
In the mid to late 1800 s criminal began to receive a reformation sentence, which would be a

Schick was convicted in 1958 for the murder of a eight year old girl on a military camp in Japan.
Schick was sentenced to death, six years later

Assignment 2 Sex Offenders
After criminals pay their debt to society, many criminals will start a fresh life, those convicted of
felons are limited to job selection, they lose the ability to vote and if they are a sex offender then
they go on a list of sex offender registry. However, not all crimes are readily available with
information about their offense except for sex offender. Their criminal records for any sex offenders
is required to be visible and available for anyone in society to have access to. The Texas Department
of Public Safety website has a database that you can access and you are available to view how
many sex offenders are within your zip code. In my 77076 zip code, there is total of 62 sex
offenders within my areas. Sixty of those offenders are male and two are female. The type of
crimes these sex offenders were convicted were a variety of differences offenses for example:
Raymond Acosta; risk level listed as moderate, convicted of sexual assault of a 35 year female,
Alfred Alvarado; risk level listed as low, convicted of procession of child pornography, victims age

Alarming because 62 sex offenders are within my area. I am not a mother yet but if I had a child I
would want to know who lives near my home that has committed a crime. I don t want my child
being exposed to any indecent exposures, lured into a home where there is a sex offender or be
affected in anyway by a sex offenders.
I do believe that people should be given a second chance in life, but as a victim myself, it is hard
to move on from giving these sex offender criminals a second chance. I know that some criminals
may never commit a crime ever again and have remorse for what they did, but there a those few
that may commit a crime again and why should a sex offender criminal live in peace or be given a
second chance, if their victim cannot forget the incident or may suffer from PTSD, because of their

The author also goes in each chapter about the depection of them in the theater. • 5. The Upper Of The Body Is Defined As Beginning At The Cervical Backround The upper quarter of the human body is defined as beginning at the cervical region, continuing to the shoulder girdle, elbow, wrist, and digits (Hand Therapy Certification Commission, 2002). The upper extremity is used for physical interaction with the world that surrounds an individual, allowing function, production, expression, and independence in daily activities as one moves through the life span (Mayo Clinic, 2014; Meyer, 2003). The frequent use of the upper quarter increases risk for traumatic injury, but also strain to the area, as is indicated by more than half of individuals over the age of 55 showing radiographical evidence of osteoarthritis in at least one hand (Dahaghin, Bierma Zeinsta, Reijman, Pols, Hazes, Koes, 2005). Despite the commonality of referrals to hand therapists to facilitate recovery of upper quarter injuries or conditions, the literature outlines that objective, functional, and in some cases psychological deficits remain for many patients past the point of discharge. When assessing recovery from a spectrum of conditions and injuries literature suggests objective measures, such as grip strength and /or range of motion, within in large percentages of patients, are significantly decreased compared to the unaffected limb or standardized norms at both discharge and follow up visits (Poole, Santhanam, Latham, 2012; Macdermid, Richards, Roth, 2001; Wilcke, Abbaszadegan, Adolphson, 2007). Essay about Audism Unveiled Audism Unveiled Audism by it s very definition is a negative or oppressive attitude towards deaf people by either deaf or hearing people and organizations, and a failure to accommodate them. They have been looked down upon as if they are some sort of subhuman not worthy of being classified as a normal person because of the fact that they cannot hear. I think that all parents with deaf children should embrace their child and their new culture and learn the language that is most easy for their child to communicate in. Most deaf children feel lonely and abandoned from their families because no one ever bothers to include them into family conversations. Whenever the deaf person would ask what s going on, they would say Oh we ll tell you later. Always the same thing and deaf people are tired of it. They want to know now and be included! It s not fair that they have to be left out just because they re deaf. It causes depression and resentment in the deaf person when the family constantly excludes the deaf family member. In some situations, deafness was viewed as evil. One man said that his aunt told him that he must have been a bad man in his past life and as punishment, he was born deaf in this life time. Hearing people do view being deaf as a misfortune, but that does not justify the way that they get treated by hearing people. I think it s horrible how they are viewed as unable. I would hate to imagine someone treating me like I m not able because I m Hispanic or because I m gay. It would tear me apart and I m sure most deaf people feel the same way. Much shorter than spaghetti, and hollow, macaroni does not contain eggs. Fusilli, a spiral shaped pasta, also called corkscrew pasta, is usually about four centimeters long. Fusilli is almost identical to another shaped pasta called rotini. They both have a spiral shape, but rotini is slightly larger, thicker and curlier. The air that comes through is warmed and filtered by the mucus. The mouth is the secondary external opening for the respiratory tract. The nasal cavity is a hollow space within the nose and skull that is lined with hairs and mucus membrane. The nasal cavity warms, moisturizes, and filters air that enters the body. Hairs and mucus inside the nasal cavity also help to trap dust before it enters the body. • 13. Effects Of Heat Illness On High School Athletes Chapter 1: Introduction In 2004, heat illness was the third leading cause of death in high school athletes.1 When playing outdoors in hot and humid environments, children are at higher risk for heat illness compared to adults. Heat illness includes multiple levels of severity, ranging from typically manageable heat cramps to a life threatening heat stroke.2 Pre pubescent children have immature thermoregulatory systems and they have a higher sweat threshold due to their smaller sweat glands. Their body surface area to mass ratio is higher than adults, increasing their absorption of heat. It is crucial to monitor and control body temperature and hydration status, particularly in these situations.3 Previous Research The American Academy of Pediatrics has created a climatic guide of temperature in combination with relative humidity to determine safe conditions and dangerous conditions. The policy includes information for parents, coaches, and pediatricians about how to monitor for signs and symptoms of a heat illness. One main recommendation is to avoid exercise during the hottest parts of the day, yet this is not always feasible when participating in organized outdoor sports, like a tournament or a meet that lasts all day. Children are at a high risk for overexertion with inadequate rehydration. If adults are not informed of these dangers and children are not monitored during physical activity, they are at a much higher risk for heat illness, especially during hot and ... Examples Of Personality Development In Frankenstein Personality Development: Nature Versus Nurture As Seen In Frankenstein Nature versus nurture, an ongoing controversy in modern psychology, is a prominent theme in Frankenstein. For centuries, psychologists and philosophers have been arguing about the basis of personality development and social integration. Many psychologists adopt a biological or natural approach, believing that personality development is a result of individual genetics. Alternatively, other psychologists believe in an environmental approach, which states that an individual will learn how to act based on their life circumstances, surroundings, and interactions. In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley successfully validates the nurture side of this debate through her explanation the monster s personality development; although he was born with the natural desire to be gentle and kind, he eventually became a vicious monster because of constant rejection, which can wreak havoc on people and turn them into violent and even... In one particularly frightening school shooting in 1997 in West Paducah, Kentucky, the shooter was clearly teased, rejected and bullied. After his arrest, he declared that he had grown tired of being teased and was quoted as saying, people respect me now. (Leary et al.). Multiprocessor Operating Systems Multiprocessing is a mode of operation in which two or more processors in a computer simultaneously process two or more different portions of the same program or set of instructions. Multiprocessing refers to a computer system s ability to support more than one process or program at the same time. Multiprocessing operating systems enable several programs to run parallel (Hosch). It is typically carried out by two or more microprocessors, each of which is in a central processing unit (CPU) on a single tiny chip. Supercomputers typically combine thousands of such microprocessors to interpret and execute instructions. If one processor fails, the failure may slow down the entire system. Another disadvantage would be the initial cost. Although money is being saved in the long run, the initial price is an investment in the beginning. Multiprocessors need to be specifically designed to work with operating systems and programs, which could leave to chance that the software being used may only use a single processor, regardless of how ever many there are in the system itself. Another common occurs with multiprocessor server boards when processors are installed that are designed to use different clocking speeds. To expect multiprocessors to work properly together, they should have identical speed ratings. Although it s possible that in some cases a faster processor can be clocked down to work in the system, problems normally occurring between mismatched processors will cause operational glitches beyond the tolerance of server networks. The safest approach with multiprocessor server boards is to install processors that are guaranteed by their manufacturer to work together. These will generally be matched according to their family, model, and stepping version (Marcraft International). Latency and overhead are also some drawbacks to having a multiprocessing unit because of the time wasted and the time delay in achieving or initiating the client s processing ... The Musuo Of Chin Matrilineal Kinship The Musuo of China: Matrilineal Kinship The practice of matrilineal kinship is considered a myth by some cultures, but it is indeed very real for the Musuo of China. Matrilineality is the practice of linear descent through the ancestry of females. Many Western civilizations have a misconception of what is considered normal on a global scale, but many practices do, in fact, differ widely between different cultures. To illustrate this, the Musuo s traditions and values in regards to marriageand familyare based solely on matrilineal kinship, while America s melting pot ideation encourages unilineal descent, in which the ancestry line can be traced to the wife and/or the husband. In the paper I will discuss the cultural nature of the Musuo, and the way that marriage and family norms in Musuo differ from the typical American ideation of family. One indication that Musuo traditions differ from the American culture in terms of marriage is the lack of a formal union between wife and husband, as well as the American idea of father and child. According their article Land of the Walking Marriage (2000), Lu Yuan and Sam Mitchell explain that Musuo fathers do not raise their own children, but instead cater to their sister s children s needs. American cultural norms include the belief that blood relatives have a biological attachment to each other, which makes this type of kinship unacceptable to many conservative minded Americans.
