WHAT IS THE FUNCTIONING OF
SENCE ORGANS ?
Sense organs play an important role
in our lives.
They aid our survival by directing us
towards certain information of our
environment that are important for us.
And influence some activity called
stimulus.
Eye is one of the most important sense organ that helps us see the things
in way they are and help us connect with there physical form. It helps us
see the nature and its beauty.
1. WHAT IS EYE?
Human eye is a complex structure that consist of many parts.
The external structure of an eye is very simple but internally eye consists of several
stuctures that are minute and have different functions.
STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONING OF EYE
Internal structure of eye
Main Parts of
eye :
1. Sclera
2. Cornea
3. Pupil
4. Lens
5. Iris
6. Conjunctiva
7. Choroid
8. Fovia
9. Retina
10. Optic nerve
11. Blind spot
We all know that ear
helps in listening
different sounds. It
does have many parts
1. Outer ear
2. Auditory canal
3. Ear drum
4. Cochlea
5. Vestibular nerve
6. Cochlear nerve
7. Eustachian tube
8. Ear ossicles
Structure of Ear
To collect and transform information vibrations produced by
sound to nerve impulses to be carried to the brain for processing.
 to maintain balance or equilibrium.
FUNCTIONS OF EAR
Olfactory receptors are present inside the
mucous membrane. The inner walls of nose
are highly sensitive to odour chemicals.
STRUCTURE OF THE NOSE
NOSTRILS
NASAL
CAVITY
MUCOUS
MEMBRANE
OLFACTORY
RECEPTORS
SMELL OR OLFACTORY SENSATION
Smell serves the
protective
function by
sensing the
odour.
We humans use
sense of smell to
identify foods,
avoid spoiled
foods etc..
Human beingsuse
smell in a limited
manner when
compared to that
of other animals.
TONGUE AND ITS FUNCTION
Our tongue is made
up of voluntary
muscles. It contains
about 10,000 taste
buds.Taste buds are
located in the walls of
the papillae.
It is also dependent
on finding out the
chemicals present in
the food.They can
identify sweet, bitter,
sour and salty.
5. STRUCTURE OF SKIN
Skin is also called
as first line of
defence. It prevents
the body from
bacteria and other
harmful micro
organisms. It has
three layers namely
epidermis dermis
and subcutis. In
which skin consists
of other glands like
sweat glands and
fats cells hair
follicles and blood
vessels.
