BEinCPPS provides a CPS/IOT Open Platform on top of which application developers could base innovative services e.g. in the field of production planning, resources management, logistics optimisation.
BEinCPPS Open Call 1 targets the development, testing and experimentation of innovative IT applications experiments, which, based on CPPS technology, could significantly enhance the impact of CPPS into the Manufacturing Industry and SMEs / Mid Caps in particular. Open APIs and datasets coming from the project's 5 experimental facilities will form an IT infrastructure for a realistic testing and experimentation of the new applications. A second wave of Open Calls will afterwards replicate the first wave best practices to additional regions in EU, facilitated by the presence of Regional Digital Manufacturing Innovation Hubs.

From three distinct perspectives, this talk will contend that design is an activity undertaken by everyone in a software development team. It occurs throughout the process of delivery — not only at the beginning or the end — and it is a powerful instrument for learning about and adapting to the problems our work seeks to solve, which is a shared responsibility. Making the best use of our multidisciplinary expertise in the activity of design requires forms of collaboration that are too often disrupted by the role-based silos that keep us separated and weaken the valuable contribution our diverse approaches could make to our collective efforts. If you care about accelerating time to market, improving customer experience, or building happy and productive teams, you will want to know why and how it matters that we believe ‘design is in everything that we do’.

In this presentation, I demonstrate that technical debt is not always something to be avoided. In fact, when debt is incurred responsibly, it can become a powerful tool that improves the communication between stakeholders and technologists.
As we inspect this concept, I offer rules and guidelines for evaluating when debt is good and when it is toxic. Once we have a firm understanding of this framework, I present strategies for prudently measuring, paying, and using debt. At the end of the presentation, both developers and business stakeholders will gain a new vocabulary for describing project decisions that will maximize the collaboration between both teams.

What is your project going to accomplish? How does this project relate to overall strategic goals and objectives of the company? Is it part of a program or larger project?
SOW: Project
Description and Project Product
What will this project create? What are the outcome products being created with this project? At a high level, how do you plan on completing the work required for this project? List at least five high-level deliverables (outputs) that will be generated from the execution of this project. This section will help to prepare for your project scope and WBS later in the course.
The SOW must contain an appropriate level of detail so all parties clearly understand what work is required, the duration of the work involved, what the deliverables are, and what is acceptable. This section should provide a general description of the project as well as highlight the project’s background and what is to be gained by the project. As the SOW often accompanies a request for proposal (RFP), the SOW introduction and background is necessary for bidding vendors to familiarize their organizations with the project.
Objectives
What objective is this project designed to meet? List a high-level objective statement for the overall project and at least three to five goals required to meet this objective. These must be measurable. For example, if an objective of the project is the cut cost, then by how much will costs be cut?
Business NeedWhy should we do this project? What will be gained, changed, or modified? Is there a financial or business reason to do this project? Explain, in detail, how this project will be beneficial to the project owner.
Milestones
What are the key milestone dates associated with the project? Milestones may show the completion of a set of major deliverables or phases. List at least 10 milestones and provide estimated end dates for each. Milestones must have associated dates.
Budget
What is the estimated budget for this project? Do not research your project cost; this is an estimate. This does not need to be close to your project’s actual costs when your project planning is complete in Week 6. This is an order of magnitude estimate.

Open APIs and datasets coming from the project's 5 experimental facilities will form an IT infrastructure for a realistic testing and experimentation of the new applications. Often as developers we are stuck evaluating only the negative artifacts of technical debt. However, what if we looked at the debt metaphor from the point-of-view of our business executives. Would we reach the same conclusions?
In this presentation, I demonstrate that technical debt is not always something to be avoided. In fact, when debt is incurred responsibly, it can become a powerful tool that improves the communication between stakeholders and technologists.
As we inspect this concept, I offer rules and guidelines for evaluating when debt is good and when it is toxic. Once we have a firm understanding of this framework, I present strategies for prudently measuring, paying, and using debt. At the end of the presentation, both developers and business stakeholders will gain a new vocabulary for describing project decisions that will maximize the collaboration between both teams.
