Essential Operations Of Information Systems
The essential operations of information systems sustained by of critical infrastructure rely on the
explicit functionality of software applications supporting complex, interdependent, information
systems. The software application provides the virtual framework for information systems to operate
efficiently in a critical infrastructure. Information systems consistently communicate with
supplementary information systems positioned throughout the network to support the infrastructure s
essential operations. The dependence of software and information systems increases, as businesses
require additional systems to automate critical operations. However, the connectivity and complexities
of information systems supporting critical infrastructure increases the critical infrastructure s exposure
rate of software vulnerabilities to advanced persistent threats. Conventionally, software application
facilitates process involved in auditing, configuring and distributing commands to augment
interdependent information system performance.
The security and safety of the nation s critical infrastructure are significantly relying on measures
implemented to ensure software resiliency and dependability. According to statistics released by the
National Security Agency (NSA) chief General Keith Alexander in 2013, about 90 percent of the
nation s critical infrastructure is owned by the private sector, and therefore is not under the control of
the U.S. government or military. (Gripas, 2013) However,

Powerlifting Team Analysis
Being an excellent leader doesn t take physically being the strongest or the smartest. It s the individual
that takes the responsibility for the pack and guides them to success. Outside of the classroom I ve
taken initiative in several groups. Such as on my powerlifting team, by providing a good example for
my young siblings and also by participating in a freshman mentoring program. These experiences
have made me stronger and more aware of others struggles. Being varsity on power lifting has done so
many things for me academically and physically. These accomplishments come as a product of the
sweat and many hours I ve invested into the program. During the season I not only work out but help
other young ladies to grow and push themselves in

Examples Of Discovery In Hamlet
The play Hamlet presents Hamlet s path, his self discovery. He is questioning his identity and
struggling with his life after his father died, his mother married his uncle Claudius and the big
pressure is on him to accept Claudius as the new king and also his new father. He is still mourning his
real father, he wears only black clothing and he considers his mother s marriage to be unnatural and
sinful. He cannot cope with these things, he does not know who he is anymore and does not see the
political side of his mother s marriage. He starts acting mad, and the only time when he is truly sincere
is in his soliloquies where he struggles with life. His fake madness is called antic disposition.

He sees a father as his rival for mother s love. It is called an oedipal complex after the Greek myth in
which Oedipus kills his father and marries his mother.
There are some critics that say that Hamlet s oedipal complex is explanation for everything he does in
the play, the way he is acting and the main reason why he cannot revenge his father immediately.
Hamlet s relationship with Ophelia is another example. She is different than Gertrude and Hamlet
wants his mother to be jealous. Hamlet s sexual desire for his mother, according to critics, is the
reason why he cannot revenge his father. Only when Gertrude dies Hamlet kills Claudius.
But Hamlet was written when Freud had not been born and his theory about oedipal complex cannot
be applied to Hamlet. It is not likely that Shakespeare knew about this complex while he was writing
Hamlet. Hamlet was not in love with his mother, he was just acting mad because of his father s death,
his mother s marriage and the appearance of the ghost. These events made him feel alone and
confused and in a state of constant thinking, it took him a long time to finally start acting and revenge

calibrate oat seeding rate for spring plantingAMES, Iowa With spring s entry, the time has come to
plant oats, spring wheat and grain. Agriculturists ordinarily plant a few bushels of little grains per

grain yields. New research from Iowa State University demonstrates that ranchers ought to utilize the
same level of administration for little grains as they do when overseeing corn or soybeans. By utilizing

agriculturists can get both yield and monetary advantages. For most extreme oat yields, harvest plant

seed packs, but rather agriculturists can ask for that data seed merchants can give that data in the event
that they have a computerized seed counter. If not, ranchers can decide seed numbers themselves by
measuring an ounce of seed on a computerized scale, tallying the seeds per ounce, and duplicating that

mortality. This will expand the measure of seed required at planting. A prescribed equation for

How Did The Romans Contribute To Government
The Romans have contributed greatly to our modern era. They ve influenced our law and government.
Many ideas of the American Legal System came from the Roman Republican Government. Like our
law, the Romans also believed that everyone was equal under the law. They also during court, a person
is considered innocent until he/she is convicted of the crime. The Romans invented the very idea of a
Republican Government, they elected people to lead the government and to make decisions for the
people. Many countries, including the U.S., have a republican based government.
The Romans have also contributed to our calendar we use today. It started out as the Julian Calendar,
which was invented by the Roman dictator Julius Caesar. The calendar had 12 months, 365 days, and
a leap year. It was the most accurate calendar at the time it was invented. It was used in ... Show more

However, the Roman Empire wasn t always Christian. It started our worshipping multiple gods from
the Greek religion. The only difference was that the Romans changed the gods names to their own
Roman names. They believed in that religion until A.D. 380 when Emperor Theodosius, after being
baptized into the Christian Church, made Christianity the sole, authorized religion of the Roman
Empire. It was because of that, the Christian Church is now the largest religion in the world today.
Once the Romans began conquering territories throughout Europe, the Romans spread their language
that they spoke, Latin around Europe. The people of the lands that the Romans conquered spoke
different languages than the Romans however. So, what happened was that Latin would mix with the
native languages evolving into languages of their own. These languages are known as the Romance
Languages which are French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. These languages are similar
to each other and are all still used today in Europe and around the

The Narrative Logic In Silent Comedy
But there is a common point exists in both their works: the exploration to the relationship between
human and the increasingly mechanized society. Although it might be argued that the narrative logic in
silent comedy is irrational and the gags are surreal and dreamlike, the fantasy world in slapstick
comedy is more or less reflect the real society and the uncertainty as well as curiosity when people
confront the new changes in their day to day life. As Bilton writes, comedy s fantastical harmlessness,
its tendency to code phenomena as nonsense, its relief of anxiety via the explosive but innocuous
release of laughter all these suggest the comforting panacea of entertainment. Maybe the most
comfortable way for people to face the unknown is to make the uncertainty into something that can be
laugh about, that is, the slapsticks.

Rip Van Winle As A National Mythology In Rip Van Winkle
Rip Van Winkle a National Mythology
Heroic, exciting, remarkable, and mysterious! These are a few characteristics found in a national
mythology. A national mythology is a body or collection of myths belonging to a people that highlight
the nation s values and ideals, celebrates its heroes and commemorates its defining events. In the time
after the American Revolutionary War people were very excited to have freedom and some chose to
show this pride and excitement through the writing of the crazy legends known as national mythology.
In Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving, he creates a national mythology through an incredible
experience of the main character, Rip Van Winkle. The use of remarkable characters, mysterious
events, and exciting places in Rip Van Winkle highlights the nation s values and ideals,
commemorates its defining events, and celebrates its heroes. Rip Van Winkle was based right around
the time of revolutionary America, one exciting place within the story was a quaint little village full of
life, color, and culture. ...There were some of the houses of the original settlers standing within a few
years, with lattice windows, gable fronts surmounted with weathercocks, and built of small yellow
bricks brought from Holland (Irving 62). When Irving described this village he was sure to include the
heritage found within this small mountain town, the brightly colored yellow bricks from Holland and
lattice windows, each detail shows just how important culture was in early American lives. Irving was
not only able to show the importance of culture, he was also able to illustrate life in the village. When
Irving said, There were some of the houses of the original settlers he showed the importance of past in
this village and how an interesting land can also have an interesting history. Irving also showed
histories yet to be discovered. When he said, ... Every hour of the day produces some change in the
magical hues and shapes of these mountains... (Irving 61). Another very exciting place in Rip Van
Winkle is the Kaatskill Mountains Irving describes these mountains with such beauty. When Irving
describes this mountain he shows them as changing, as if each time you looked at them there was a

Every year an estimated 5 million older Americans are victims of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
And that s only part of the picture: Experts believe that for every case of elder abuse or neglect

elderly abuse is a growing topic in our country because it violates three specific articles in the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Elderly abuse and neglect is an increasing age discrimination
issue in the United States and violates the human rights to an adequate standard of living, equal
protection under the law, and the right to be free from degrading treatment. The often neglectful and

The caregivers of the victims may not feel that the elderly diagnosed with any type of dementia can
effectively communicate their abuse to family or loved ones, making it easier to manipulate them.
This is violating the right to an adequate standard of living because these people were being drugged
in the nursing home which they considered home. The residents no longer felt safe in their living
space and this is taking away the human right established in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. In a study by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, Dr. Harruff evaluated this
correlation, In an elderly individual, invariably there s a combination of processes if there s neglect,
there s usually disease and neglect, he said. For patients in nursing homes, sores can mean that staffers
aren t turning or moving them enough, a serious violation of accepted standards of health care. Federal
data show that more than 7 percent of long term nursing home residents have pressure ulcers (Lee and
Thompson). If the elderly were able to defend themselves and express this abuse to others effectively,
caregivers would not treat them this way because they know that they are inadequately providing care
and this is illegal. The Alzheimer s Association also recognizes that dementia can affect

But the point which drew all eyes, and, as it were, transfigured the wearer, so that both men and
women, who had been familiarly acquainted with Hester Prynne, were now impressed as if they
beheld her for the first time, was that Scarlet Letter, so fantastically embroidered and illuminated upon
her bosom. It had the effect of a spell, taking her out of the ordinary relations with humanity, and
enclosing her in a sphere by herself. (51)
Hester Prynne is guilty of committing adultery with an unknown individual. As a consequence, a
scarlet letter was sewn on her bosom, as a form of punishment, and she s forced to wear for the rest of
her life. The scarlet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is kind of suggesting that there is no such thing as a victimless crime, because there is never just
one person affected, someone else is always dragged in. The fellow sufferer in this case is
Dimmesdale, and his inability to come out as the father of pearl, lets the sin eat away at him. The only
way sin is able to be eradicated is through confession, and we can see that throughout the story.
Had I one friend, or were it my worst enemy! to whom, when sickened with the praises of all other
men, I could daily betake myself, and be known as the vilest of all sinners, methinks my soul might
keep itself alive thereby. Even thus much of truth would save me! But now, it is all falsehood! all
emptiness! all death!
Roger Chillingworth s goal throughout the story was to avenge Hester and bring agony and vengeance
to the man who had an affair with his wife. While Chillingworth was socializing with Dimmesdale, his
character darkened in evil and ugliness, as if he was sucking the healthy life out of Dimmesdale. In
addition, the Black Man was mentioned a few times throughout the story. The black man is a
resemblance of the devil, and Chillingworth is the Black

Reading Response #1 To My Dear Housband and Upon The Burning Of Our House

At the beginning, I was shocked. Because Anne talks of her love towards his housband, and when I

fact that Anne talks too much about God s will in the second poem, leads me to spiritual growth. Both
poems represent something in my life, like: the burning of the house represent problems that may

Attachment Theory In Pregnancy
Over the last two decades, multiple studies that have examined the stability of attachment
classification from infancy have shown significant discrepancies between the rates of continuity,
particularly among the low and high risk groups, as well as, greater rates of discontinuity among
middle risk groups. Waters et al (2000) administered 12 month old low risk infants with the Strange
Situation Task in a twenty year longitudinal study and reported a stability rate of 64%, whereas,
Aikins, Howes and Hamilton (2009) via similar procedures demonstrated the stability rate of
attachment categories among low risk infants were only 25%. An explanation for these differences
may be due to sample sizes or measurement errors, however the interrater ... Show more content on

This discontinuity of attachment classifications has been attributed to individuals that have
experienced high levels of life stress after one year of age, such as parental divorce, parental
depression/hospitalization, death of a parent, abuse by a family member, etc. These variables are
especially prevalent among disadvantaged groups living in poverty, who experiences greater life stress
consistently. Hence, negative life events can cause changes in the quality of caregiving and alter the
dynamics of the family, which impacts the stability of attachment relationship from infancy onwards.
Therefore, it is the caregiver s behaviour and the environmental factors surrounding the individual that
shapes the stability and change in attachment styles rather than age such as one year. This also
supports Bowlby s attachment theory which highlights both stability and change, hence, it can be
concluded infant attachment styles (as measured by the Ainsworth Strange Situation Task) isn t
permanent and can change even after the first year of life.
Overall, this emphasises the importance of caregiver child relationship and their effect on the socio
emotional development of children. The developmental psychological model outlined by Schore
(1999), clearly demonstrates secure parental child attachment is linked to better cognitive and
behavioural outcome for the

Symphony Orchestra Analysis
A symphony is an extended classical composition for an orchestra, found in Western Art Music. It
often consists of four separate and unique, sections known as movements which are, in some way
however, related to one another. The symphony as a genre began developing during the late 17th
century and continued to do so up until the late 18th century. This important genre of Western Art
Music is closely related to the development of the orchestra. It is therefore critical, in understanding
the symphony, to investigate the development of the orchestra.
In the stretch of a hundred years, the orchestra underwent considerable change in developing into the
standard symphony orchestra of the modern age. When it is first found in the late 1600s during ...

It was truly a breeding ground for musical excellence and innovation. This orchestra was by far the
largest of its kind in the area, and boasted many of the greatest virtuosi of the time. Upon Mozart s
first visit to Mannheim in 1763, the orchestra made a huge impression on him. Besides a large
orchestra, symphonies included various specific musical features and techniques, that had become
trademarks of the style developed in Manheim. One Manheim composer in particular had a large
impact on the orchestra and the symphony. His name is Jan Vaclav Antonin Stamic (1717 1757)
(Germanized to Johann Wenzel Anton Stamitz). He started writing orchestral works to be independent
works in their own right. Orchestras no longer needed to accompany vocal genres to attain any
meaning. This paved the way for what was to become known as abstract music. Stamitz wrote 58
symphonies in his lifetime, and numerous conciertos. He expanded the orchestra, with woodwinds
starting to play an essential role in the orchestral timbre. The orchestra was no longer made up simply
of a haphazard group of instruments, but was starting to take a fixed formal shape. Along with his
contributions to the expansion of the orchestra he also adopted the formal structure of four movements
for the symphony and started using a distinct development section in the first movements, which
became known as sonata form. The opening movement is fast, followed by a slow second movement,
the third movement would be a minuet and trio, and the fourth would end the symphony on a final

Rationalization On Premarital Sex Is Immoral
Mohammed Miah Professor Dowd ENWR 105/E3 3 11 November 2014 Rationalization on Premarital
Sex For an extensive period of time, it was considered sinful and immoral, but in the beginning of this
century, it found its way into the social norm. Many people today believe it is acceptable, but there are
still numerous people, including myself, who find the practice of premarital sex to be wrong at first
glance regardless of what the situation may be. The thought of whether or not the practice is
acceptable varies from person to person based on their upbringing and knowledge on the topic. Due to
the countless morbid and life changing consequences, including a multitude of diseases and unwanted
pregnancies, people, such as myself, rationalize on the opinion that premarital sex is immoral and
should not be practiced. In his argument titled The Moral Instinct, Pinker identifies two different
methods that people use to conclude on whether an action, idea, or practice is moral or immoral; he
refers to them as moral reasoning and moral rationalization (462). Moral reasoning can be defined as
analyzing a situation first to make a judgment/conclusion on that situation (Pinker 462). On the other
hand, moral rationalization is the opposite and is defined as beginning with the conclusion, coughed
up by an unconscious emotion, and then working backward to a plausible justification (Pinker 462). In
other words, moral rationalization is the first instinct that we get about something. The

the objectives of the project describing the deliverables, while also containing a description of the

The only reason that we would be risking environmental safety is because during construction, some
of the materials that are used could be harmful to the environment. However, by doing this
construction to make our public spaces more efficient, we are not risking the safety of any of our

Right Atrial Contractions
On the right side the flow of blood enters the heart through the inferior and superior vena cava that
throws out the poor oxygen blood to the right atrium. On the left side of the heart the pulmonary veins
takes action that dumps the rich oxygen blood that is coming from the lungs to the left atrium. This
has both sides of the heart working together. When it comes to the atrial contraction, the right side
makes the blood flow to the right atrium to the right ventricle to the tricuspid valve. Once the
ventricles fill up completely, that is when the tricuspid valves shut closed. This is to prevent the blood
from going backwards to the atria, making the ventricles squeeze together. The left side of the atrial
contraction makes the blood flow from

Net Present Value Essay
Investments are necessary for a business to grow. Although, this is true it much more valuable to know
about the value and benefit of the investment. Selecting the best investment choice will ensure growth
in the future and will generate value. The problem typically arises when trying to utilize capital
budgeting skills in determining different tasks with the same risk. There are many ways to determine
the correct return gained from investments. The (NPV) Net Present Value has proven to be the best
method for organizations to use. NPV gives a direct image of what can be profited or loss when
investing. This allows for the best decision to be made when selecting a project.

Based on this method the future funds that can be potentially earned from the project have to be larger
than the starting amount of investment. At minimum the price of investment has to be recouped from
the project. In both situations there has to be a recoupment or the projects will be abandoned because
there would be too much burden on the organization with no gain. Now, if the ROI is higher than the
price of capital, only then can the choice be made. Assuming both ideas have large ROI s then the idea
with the greatest is going to be chosen. This situation is known as hurdle rate (Damodar, 2017).
PI or Profitability Index is the method that involves the profits earned from a project. Just like with
NPV all predicted income is discounted to current rates utilizing the price of capital, usually the
discounted rate. The way that choices are made under this method is that all tasks with a profitability
index of higher than one with be chosen and anything under one will not be chosen. This is because it
is assumed that the profitability index value of larger than one lets on that the projected cash flow will
have a higher value than the starting investment. Both PI and NPV answers will reveal similar data so,
it is not sensible to utilize this method to determine the project (Tarantino, 2006).

President Of The National Association Of Independent...
Today s educational system faces a questionable success in relation to the advancement of society.
Bob Herbert, an op ed columnist for the New York times, created the educational essay titled, Our
Schools Must Do Better He began working there in 1993 and spent his career writing mainly about
issues facing race as well as poverty in the U.S.. Two men, Arne Duncan and John Chubb wrote
articles that mirror ideas discussed by Herbert. Duncan, who wrote U.S. Education Reform: This Truly
Is a Moon Shoot , is the former United States Secretary of Education and often linked a student s
academic performance to their teachers and school. Similarly, Chubb researched education topics and
eventually became the president of the National Association of Independent Schools(NAIS). His
article, Our Schools Our Future Are We Still At Risk expresses problems that today s educational
systems present. Herbert, Duncan, and Chubb conclude that changes or reforms in educational
systems as well as teacher quality must be done in order to ensure future academic success to students.
Renovations must be done in educational systems to enable success for students in the changing world
of today. In Herbert s essay, he expresses that education is not improving in ways it needs to. These
changes prove to be essential when looked at from the student and societal aspect. At this point,
schools are not adjusting to time changes. Herbert supports this claim by stating, The U.S. has not yet

Physics Of Semi Active Suspension System

Magneto rheological fluid to control of Vibrations and Acoustics
*Sourabh Joshi1, **Piyush Nandwal2
1. Acropolis Technical Campus, Indore (M.P.)
In the case of semi active suspensions with sequential damping, the damping forces are zero or rather
very small as long as the sprung mass is moving away from its static equilibrium position and
suddenly increases when the system is returning to the static equilibrium position. The basic idea of
this semi active control strategy is to balance the elastic force by the damping force in order to reduce
or even to cancel the forces transmitted through the suspension as long as the spring and elastic forces

Semi active control systems combine the best features of the passive and active ones. They have
almost the same environmental robustness, mechanical simplicity and low cost as passive devices and
can offer the adaptability of active control systems without requiring the associated large power
sources.
In this paper the effect of semi active suspension with Magneto rheological fluid to control the
damping characteristic of the system and balanced logic on which the system works is presented. The
damping characteristics are controlled by modulation of fluid flow orifices, dry friction forces, electric
or magnetic field applied to electro rheological or magneto rheological fluid dampers. The balance
logic is assumed to be achieved with a variable dry friction damper controlled by the modulation of
the normal force applied on the friction plates. For the models with semi active dual rate dampers, the
value of the equivalent suspension damping coefficient is a function of the relative velocity of the
sprung mass with respect to the wheel subsystem.
Key Words: Transmissibility factor, Magneto rheological fluid, Sequential damping
INTRODUCTION
Isolation of passenger from induced shock and vibration is the important task of the suspension of any
ground vehicle. Most suspensions have passive springs and dampers with rather limited vibration
isolation performance, both for linear and nonlinear restoring or damping characteristics. Their

Reason being, the budget must always be amended and monitored from time to time as needed.
Subsequently, the Governor s deadline to submit the Executive budget to legislatures are mid January
or February 1st in the case of a gubernatorial election. The legislature evaluates and reflect on
decisions based on the Executive budget. This process involves the budget s spending proposals,
revenue estimates, holding public hearings on major programs, seeking further information from the
staffs of the Division of the Budget and other State agencies. In the event the Legislative body fails to
adopt the Executive budget, the State Comptroller is required to provide a revenue forecast by March
5th. Section 53 of the State Finance Law authorizes the enactment of a special emergency adoption,
this process may be assigned by the Governor to various funds. Considering the 2017 State to State
proposal by Governor Cuomo, the final budget would be analyzed and a decision would be made to
reject an Executive budget proposal that would cost state taxpayers $27 million and reward people

India s Increasing Demand For Kpo
The CAGR (compound annual growth rate) was expected by the Indian KPO sector between 2003 and
2010 was of 49.5%. In spite of slowdown, India s KPO market is rising at a CAGR of approximately
30% at present and could touch $30 billion by 2015 from the current level of $20 billion.
Since these reports clearly divulge that there is a clear trend towards KPO services to India. A large
no. of companies are showing their interest in India to offshore their work at comparatively cheaper
rates. For instance, drafting and filing of patent applications is very expensive in the US but it is
comparatively cheaper in India. India offers significant cost benefit of about 40% to 50% per cent in
the areas of Research.

Ethanol Interactions with Receptors
Introduction
Ethanol, the alcohol found in alcoholic beverages, has a wide range of effects. Unlike many drugs,
ethanol does not have a specific area of the brain in which it exerts its effects. For this reason, ethanol
has a large diversity of symptoms and varying effects among individuals. In general, it binds with and
alters the function of voltage gated ion channels. Typically ethanol inhibits neurons directly or
stimulates the release of inhibitor neurotransmitters. Ethanol may have undesirable side effects such as
deficits in cognitive ability and long term brain damaged if used frequently.
Ethanol Interactions with Receptors
Ethanol interacts with the several neurochemical systems that play a role in the effects and reinforcing
factors during consumption. It is a depressant that interacts with ion gated channels in a way that
generally decreases brain activity. These interactions either facilitate the channel, opening mostly Cl ,
but also facilitate 5 HT3 receptors that are NA+ and K+ channels, or the interactions inhibit the
opening of channels usually NA+, CA+, and K+. Some of the receptors that it affects include,
GABAA, GABAB, NMDA, serotonin, and Dopamine. The GABAergic systems play a major role in
the reinforcing factors of alcohol consumption. Ethanol tends to enhance GABA activity, most likely
by increasing GABA release from the neurons. However, the mechanism is not the same for every
GABA receptor, and the exact mechanism may be difficult to determine

On How Brazil Positioned Itself as the 7th Largest Economy...
Introduction
Brazil with a population around 201,032,714, is the largest South America s country. Brazil s most
important components of its GDP are service revenues, wide industry sector and its successful
agriculture.
For More than two decades Brazil suffered badly from high inflation, economic decline, domestic and
foreign debt. In 1993 country s Inflation reached 30 percent a month and as a result the country
wouldn t sustain growth. After many unsuccessful plans to control the inflation, finally Real Plan of
Fernando Henrique Cardoso, minister of finance, worked out and brought the inflation down to a
single digit.
Today Brazil with a GDP of $2.533 trillion is the 7th largest economy in the world and it is also
considered as one of the most successful emerging countries. Despite all predictions, thanks to its
huge domestic market and agriculture, the country maintained its growth in 2009 and 2010.
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how Brazil, a country with an extremely high rate of
inflation and low growth, positioned itself as the 7th largest economy of the world and what are the
challenges that the country is facing. First of all the Real Plan of Fernando Henrique Cardoso and how
it helped the country to stabilize its economy and drop down the inflation rate will be discussed.
Secondly how his successor s policies, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, improved country s economy. At the
end the challenges that Dilma Vana Rousseff, the current president, is facing

Slavery And The American Revolution
Slavery has been a key issue in American history since the first settlers settled here in 1607. Historians
such as Vincent J Rosivach writes that when the issue of slavery is mentioned the first thing people
think about is the slavery model of the deep south, the cotton kingdom. Rosivach writes that there
were many different slave models such as the northern American colonies and 4th century Athens.
Rosivach and many other historians agree that the way slavery was done in the north was totally
different from the south. Slaves have had an important role particularly in the northern American
colonies helping them early establish themselves first as a region then as a country. Historians have
argued that America was built on the backs of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the north owners usually owned only one or two slaves. Historians have figured that these owners
could have done without them if necessary. Owning slaves was less a commitment than a response to
labor needs. That is why we see blacks working in their owners shops. Historians like Shane white
argue that slaves now had an advantage over slaves in any other area, because these slaves were
picking up trades that could help in their future journey. Rosivach on page 552 talks about how slaves
helped the economy. White talked about the trades they picked up and now Rosivach expands on that.
Since most slave owners only owned a few slaves the owner s main priority was to make ends meet
for his family. Rosivach talks about how slaves could run the owner s shops if the owners had to leave
for a short period of time. Slaves also helped speed up production. With two people working it helped
the owner make more money. They were not running large scaled operations but simple community
ran business. Rosivach also states that even if someone did not own a slave in the north they could
produce the same amount of production as a slave and his owner. Rosivach is making the claim that
slaves are expendable and not a dire need as they were in the south. Rosivach and White both talk
about the type of work slaves did in the north. Along with that work came the person they worked for.

Essential Operations Of Information Systems The essential operations of information systems sustained by of critical infrastructure rely on the explicit functionality of software applications supporting complex, interdependent, information systems. The software application provides the virtual framework for information systems to operate efficiently in a critical infrastructure. Information systems consistently communicate with supplementary information systems positioned throughout the network to support the infrastructure s essential operations. The dependence of software and information systems increases, as businesses require additional systems to automate critical operations. However, the connectivity and complexities of information systems supporting critical infrastructure increases the critical infrastructure s exposure rate of software vulnerabilities to advanced persistent threats. Conventionally, software application facilitates process involved in auditing, configuring and distributing commands to augment interdependent information system performance. The security and safety of the nation s critical infrastructure are significantly relying on measures implemented to ensure software resiliency and dependability. According to statistics released by the National Security Agency (NSA) chief General Keith Alexander in 2013, about 90 percent of the nation s critical infrastructure is owned by the private sector, and therefore is not under the control of the U.S. government or military. He is questioning his identity and struggling with his life after his father died, his mother married his uncle Claudius and the big pressure is on him to accept Claudius as the new king and also his new father. He is still mourning his real father, he wears only black clothing and he considers his mother s marriage to be unnatural and sinful. He cannot cope with these things, he does not know who he is anymore and does not see the political side of his mother s marriage. It is called an oedipal complex after the Greek myth in which Oedipus kills his father and marries his mother. There are some critics that say that Hamlet s oedipal complex is explanation for everything he does in the play, the way he is acting and the main reason why he cannot revenge his father immediately. Hamlet s relationship with Ophelia is another example. She is different than Gertrude and Hamlet wants his mother to be jealous. Hamlet s sexual desire for his mother, according to critics, is the reason why he cannot revenge his father. Only when Gertrude dies Hamlet kills Claudius. But Hamlet was written when Freud had not been born and his theory about oedipal complex cannot be applied to Hamlet. It is not likely that Shakespeare knew about this complex while he was writing Hamlet. Hamlet was not in love with his mother, he was just acting mad because of his father s death, his mother s marriage and the appearance of the ghost. These events made him feel alone and confused and in a state of constant thinking, it took him a long time to finally start acting and revenge his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fellow sufferer in this case is Dimmesdale, and his inability to come out as the father of pearl, lets the sin eat away at him. The only way sin is able to be eradicated is through confession, and we can see that throughout the story. Attachment Theory In Pregnancy Over the last two decades, multiple studies that have examined the stability of attachment classification from infancy have shown significant discrepancies between the rates of continuity, particularly among the low and high risk groups, as well as, greater rates of discontinuity among middle risk groups. Waters et al (2000) administered 12 month old low risk infants with the Strange Situation Task in a twenty year longitudinal study and reported a stability rate of 64%, whereas, Aikins, Howes and Hamilton (2009) via similar procedures demonstrated the stability rate of attachment categories among low risk infants were only 25%. This discontinuity of attachment classifications has been attributed to individuals that have experienced high levels of life stress after one year of age, such as parental divorce, parental depression/hospitalization, death of a parent, abuse by a family member, etc. These variables are especially prevalent among disadvantaged groups living in poverty, who experiences greater life stress consistently. Hence, negative life events can cause changes in the quality of caregiving and alter the dynamics of the family, which impacts the stability of attachment relationship from infancy onwards. Therefore, it is the caregiver s behaviour and the environmental factors surrounding the individual that shapes the stability and change in attachment styles rather than age such as one year. This also supports Bowlby s attachment theory which highlights both stability and change, hence, it can be concluded infant attachment styles (as measured by the Ainsworth Strange Situation Task) isn t permanent and can change even after the first year of life. Overall, this emphasises the importance of caregiver child relationship and their effect on the socio emotional development of children. This important genre of Western Art Music is closely related to the development of the orchestra. This orchestra was by far the largest of its kind in the area, and boasted many of the greatest virtuosi of the time. Upon Mozart s first visit to Mannheim in 1763, the orchestra made a huge impression on him. Besides a large orchestra, symphonies included various specific musical features and techniques, that had become trademarks of the style developed in Manheim. One Manheim composer in particular had a large impact on the orchestra and the symphony. His name is Jan Vaclav Antonin Stamic (1717 1757) (Germanized to Johann Wenzel Anton Stamitz). He started writing orchestral works to be independent works in their own right. Orchestras no longer needed to accompany vocal genres to attain any meaning. This paved the way for what was to become known as abstract music. Stamitz wrote 58 symphonies in his lifetime, and numerous conciertos. He expanded the orchestra, with woodwinds starting to play an essential role in the orchestral timbre. The orchestra was no longer made up simply of a haphazard group of instruments, but was starting to take a fixed formal shape. Along with his contributions to the expansion of the orchestra he also adopted the formal structure of four movements for the symphony and started using a distinct development section in the first movements, which became known as sonata form. The opening movement is fast, followed by a slow second movement, the third movement would be a minuet and trio, and the fourth would end the symphony on a final Presto or Prestissimo ... • 18. Rationalization On Premarital Sex Is Immoral Mohammed Miah Professor Dowd ENWR 105/E3 3 11 November 2014 Rationalization on Premarital Sex For an extensive period of time, it was considered sinful and immoral, but in the beginning of this century, it found its way into the social norm. Many people today believe it is acceptable, but there are still numerous people, including myself, who find the practice of premarital sex to be wrong at first glance regardless of what the situation may be. The thought of whether or not the practice is acceptable varies from person to person based on their upbringing and knowledge on the topic. Due to the countless morbid and life changing consequences, including a multitude of diseases and unwanted pregnancies, people, such as myself, rationalize on the opinion that premarital sex is immoral and should not be practiced. In his argument titled The Moral Instinct, Pinker identifies two different methods that people use to conclude on whether an action, idea, or practice is moral or immoral; he refers to them as moral reasoning and moral rationalization (462). Moral reasoning can be defined as analyzing a situation first to make a judgment/conclusion on that situation (Pinker 462). On the other hand, moral rationalization is the opposite and is defined as beginning with the conclusion, coughed up by an unconscious emotion, and then working backward to a plausible justification (Pinker 462). In other words, moral rationalization is the first instinct that we get about something. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It contains the objectives of the project describing the deliverables, while also containing a description of the criteria used to assess when each section is completed, risk assessments and identifies stakeholders and management (Documentation Consultants, n.d.). The Project Management Plan is also produced during the planning phase. It contains the project s schedule and milestones, required resources and cost estimations and budgets. To start off the planning you must study the current system with the people involved (such as clients, employees or management). These groups would have meetings to discuss areas of the system that could be improved and suggest possible solutions. In these meetings, agendas are given out so that everyone knows what the objectives are. Notes are recorded to be reviewed during requirements analysis. On the left side of the heart the pulmonary veins takes action that dumps the rich oxygen blood that is coming from the lungs to the left atrium. This has both sides of the heart working together. When it comes to the atrial contraction, the right side makes the blood flow to the right atrium to the right ventricle to the tricuspid valve. Selecting the best investment choice will ensure growth in the future and will generate value. The problem typically arises when trying to utilize capital budgeting skills in determining different tasks with the same risk. There are many ways to determine the correct return gained from investments. The (NPV) Net Present Value has proven to be the best method for organizations to use. NPV gives a direct image of what can be profited or loss when investing. This allows for the best decision to be made when selecting a project. Health Care Financial Management All important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on this method the future funds that can be potentially earned from the project have to be larger than the starting amount of investment. At minimum the price of investment has to be recouped from the project. In both situations there has to be a recoupment or the projects will be abandoned because there would be too much burden on the organization with no gain. Now, if the ROI is higher than the price of capital, only then can the choice be made. Assuming both ideas have large ROI s then the idea with the greatest is going to be chosen. This situation is known as hurdle rate (Damodar, 2017). PI or Profitability Index is the method that involves the profits earned from a project. Just like with NPV all predicted income is discounted to current rates utilizing the price of capital, usually the discounted rate. The way that choices are made under this method is that all tasks with a profitability index of higher than one with be chosen and anything under one will not be chosen. This is because it is assumed that the profitability index value of larger than one lets on that the projected cash flow will have a higher value than the starting investment. Bob Herbert, an op ed columnist for the New York times, created the educational essay titled, Our Schools Must Do Better He began working there in 1993 and spent his career writing mainly about issues facing race as well as poverty in the U.S.. Two men, Arne Duncan and John Chubb wrote articles that mirror ideas discussed by Herbert. Duncan, who wrote U.S. Education Reform: This Truly Is a Moon Shoot , is the former United States Secretary of Education and often linked a student s academic performance to their teachers and school. Similarly, Chubb researched education topics and eventually became the president of the National Association of Independent Schools(NAIS). His article, Our Schools Our Future Are We Still At Risk expresses problems that today s educational systems present. Herbert, Duncan, and Chubb conclude that changes or reforms in educational systems as well as teacher quality must be done in order to ensure future academic success to students. Renovations must be done in educational systems to enable success for students in the changing world of today. In Herbert s essay, he expresses that education is not improving in ways it needs to. These changes prove to be essential when looked at from the student and societal aspect. At this point, schools are not adjusting to time changes. In the case of semi active suspensions with sequential damping, the damping forces are zero or rather very small as long as the sprung mass is moving away from its static equilibrium position and suddenly increases when the system is returning to the static equilibrium position. The basic idea of this semi active control strategy is to balance the elastic force by the damping force in order to reduce or even to cancel the forces transmitted through the suspension as long as the spring and elastic forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Semi active control systems combine the best features of the passive and active ones. They have almost the same environmental robustness, mechanical simplicity and low cost as passive devices and can offer the adaptability of active control systems without requiring the associated large power sources. In this paper the effect of semi active suspension with Magneto rheological fluid to control the damping characteristic of the system and balanced logic on which the system works is presented. The damping characteristics are controlled by modulation of fluid flow orifices, dry friction forces, electric or magnetic field applied to electro rheological or magneto rheological fluid dampers. The balance logic is assumed to be achieved with a variable dry friction damper controlled by the modulation of the normal force applied on the friction plates. For the models with semi active dual rate dampers, the value of the equivalent suspension damping coefficient is a function of the relative velocity of the sprung mass with respect to the wheel subsystem. Key Words: Transmissibility factor, Magneto rheological fluid, Sequential damping INTRODUCTION Isolation of passenger from induced shock and vibration is the important task of the suspension of any ground vehicle. • 30. Ethanol Interactions with Receptors Introduction Ethanol, the alcohol found in alcoholic beverages, has a wide range of effects. Unlike many drugs, ethanol does not have a specific area of the brain in which it exerts its effects. For this reason, ethanol has a large diversity of symptoms and varying effects among individuals. In general, it binds with and alters the function of voltage gated ion channels. Typically ethanol inhibits neurons directly or stimulates the release of inhibitor neurotransmitters. Ethanol may have undesirable side effects such as deficits in cognitive ability and long term brain damaged if used frequently. Ethanol Interactions with Receptors Ethanol interacts with the several neurochemical systems that play a role in the effects and reinforcing factors during consumption. It is a depressant that interacts with ion gated channels in a way that generally decreases brain activity. These interactions either facilitate the channel, opening mostly Cl , but also facilitate 5 HT3 receptors that are NA+ and K+ channels, or the interactions inhibit the opening of channels usually NA+, CA+, and K+. Some of the receptors that it affects include, GABAA, GABAB, NMDA, serotonin, and Dopamine. The GABAergic systems play a major role in the reinforcing factors of alcohol consumption. Ethanol tends to enhance GABA activity, most likely by increasing GABA release from the neurons. However, the mechanism is not the same for every GABA receptor, and the exact mechanism may be difficult to determine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rosivach writes that there were many different slave models such as the northern American colonies and 4th century Athens. Rosivach and many other historians agree that the way slavery was done in the north was totally different from the south. Rosivach on page 552 talks about how slaves helped the economy. White talked about the trades they picked up and now Rosivach expands on that. Since most slave owners only owned a few slaves the owner s main priority was to make ends meet for his family. With two people working it helped the owner make more money. They were not running large scaled operations but simple community ran business.
