regarding the sustenance and growth of the business due to
this mindset that you need supplements post diagnosing a
disease or when you are sick. After COVID hit the world,
this mindset started changing because people began to

become the need of the hour.
“This market is expected to grow from $4 billion in 2017 to
$18 billion in 2025,” where Fast&Up sees itself as the
market leader in effervescent, clean, intelligent, plant-based
nutrition, fulfilling and catering to the needs of our
consumers. There has been a sharp surge in the
nutraceutical market, and we expect the demand and
opportunity to grow as people are now more inclined than
ever toward nutrition.

What would be your advice to budding entrepreneurs
who aspire to venture into the Healthcare space?
The healthcare space is evolving rapidly and constantly in
the current times. People have become very aware and
cautious about their health and have started to keep
themselves informed more than before. Transparency is
important, and you cannot compromise on the quality of
your product.
Consumers do not want to compromise on quality anymore
and want only the best hence it is imperative to maintain the
standard to create a mark of your own. Due to the ever-
evolving nature of business, entrepreneurs need to develop
future-proof strategies that will allow them to bring new
and valuable concepts, services, and products to the
healthcare field. The healthcare space is vast and has a huge
scope; you just need to find the right gap to fill and never
compromise on quality.
How do you envision scaling Fast&Up’s operations and
offerings in the future?
Fast&Up has grown more than 40 percent year on year
basis; we can safely say it is one of India’s fastest-growing
nutrition brands. The brand has received funding from
renowned investors like Morgan Stanley, Rakesh
Jhunjhunwala, Sixth Sense, Kotak Fund, and Tek Friday,
along with famous celebrities like Shilpa Shetty Kundra,
Varun Dhawan, and cricketer Mayank Agarwal.
Our future plans include making Fast&Up the nutrition of
active India and taking the brand beyond the country. We
aim to have a strong presence in the international markets
and have already started selling our products in some of
these markets. We are looking to aggressively expand
overseas for stronger growth in the sector, especially post-
COVID.
Today, Fast&Up is available in over 2000 stores across
India and is currently selling online and offline. The brand
has its e-commerce website and is available in all leading e-
marketplaces. We are presently also aggressively growing
in the retail space, focusing on specialized nutrition stores,
MTOs, and pharmacies and focusing on our omnichannel
strategy.

echnological developments have changed the way the
Thealthcare industry operated earlier. Doing away with the
typical documentation with saving time, modern applications
have expedited the crucial processes in research, documentation,
analysis, communication, and instructions and smoother recovery as
well. Giving better and more accurate ﬁndings from the process,
modern processes have enabled medical researchers in progressing in
the right direction. Doctors are in a better position to decide on
advanced diagnostic reports for initiating suitable treatments without

Virtual Reality (VR) in Rehabilitation
The busy urban life is unpredictable about what could happen the
next moment. Various types of accidents or mishaps subject patients
to odd types of injuries including cervical spine injuries, severe
vertigo, and other complex health conditions. Such cases require
several years of continuous and intense neurological rehabilitation.
The results are slow and unpredictable. The new developments in the
rehabilitation process focus to change the neurological-rehab
experience using virtual reality. By expanding the range and type of
exercises patients can try, VR creates more opportunities to harness
the brain’s plasticity and repair neural pathways; increases the
amount of data caregivers can use to measure progress and adapt
programs; and improves the monotonous, frustrating experience of
rehab.

3-D Digital Hearts
In the cases of suspected heart problems, invasive
catheterization becomes necessary to diagnose blocked or
narrowed arteries. Doctors then choose the best method for
improving blood flow from a handful of options, including
balloon angioplasty and stenting. HeartFlow was started by
Charles Taylor, a well-known Stanford professor, to help
patients avoid invasive diagnostic procedures and improve
treatment outcomes. The company’s system creates
personalized 3-D models that can be rotated and zoomed
into, to enable doctors simulate various approaches on
screens. In some cases, it can help avoid invasive
procedures entirely.
Drone-delivered Medical Supplies
The Flight forward trial program of UPS, using autonomous
drone deliveries of critical medical samples including blood
or tissue between two branches of a hospital in Raleigh,
N.C., located 150 yards apart. A fleet-footed runner could
cover the distance almost as fast as the drones, but as a
proof-of-concept program, it succeeded, and in October the
FAA granted the company approval to expand to 20
hospitals around the U.S. over the next two years. “We
expect UPS Flight Forward to one day be a very significant
part of our company,” says UPS CEO David Abney of the
service, which will deliver urine, blood and tissue samples,
and medical essentials like drugs and transfusable blood.
Wing, a division of Google’s parent company Alphabet,
received similar, but more limited, FAA approval to make
deliveries for both Walgreens and FedEx. Drones operated
by Silicon Valley startup Zipline are already delivering
medical supplies to rural villages of Ghana and Rwanda.
Artificial Intelligence Aiding Cancer Diagnosis
Certain types of cancers spread slowly without any
symptoms. Symptoms of lung cancer usually don’t appear
until its later stages, when it’s difficult to treat. Early
screening of high-risk populations with CT scans can
reduce the risk of dying, but it comes with risks of its own.
The U.S. National Institutes of Health found that 2.5% of
patients who received CT scans later endured needlessly
invasive treatments—-sometimes with fatal results—after
radiologists erroneously diagnosed false positives.
Researchers believe artificial intelligence may be the
solution. Researchers from the Google Health team in the
past two years built an AI system that outperforms human
radiologists in diagnosing lung cancer. After being trained
on more than 45,000 patient CT scans, Google’s algorithm
detected 5% more cancer cases and had 11% fewer false
positives than a control group of six human radiologists.
The early results are promising, with the technology closing
the gap through higher accuracy and faster and non-
invasive diagnosis.
Stem-cell Cure for Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes affects 1.25 million people in the US alone.
Treatment can involve a lifetime of careful eating, insulin
injections, and multiple daily blood-glucose tests. Melton
has a different approach of using stem cells to create
replacement beta cells that produce insulin. He started the
work over Ten years ago, when stem-cell research was
raising hopes and controversy.
In 2014 he co-founded Semma Therapeutics—the name is
derived from his kids, Sam and Emma—to develop the
technology, and this summer it was acquired by Vertex
Pharmaceuticals for $950 million. The company has created
a small, implantable device that holds millions of
replacement beta cells, letting glucose and insulin through
but keeping immune cells out. Melton says “If it works in
people as well as it does in animals, it’s possible that people
will not be diabetic, They will eat and drink and play like
those of us who are not.”

Well, I am a CA by qualification. I began charting Indus

instance, the ability of AI to reduce costs for the healthcare
system is a critical factor in adopting AI applications.
Machine learning improves access to care, adding more
value in treatment options, and helping personalize
treatment, and with the help of that, each patient are able to
avail effective treatment.

For us, the challenge was to develop an integrated model to

to the masses. Apart from the regular challenges of resource
allocation, faced by every new enterprise, the initial
challenge for us was to sensitize people about the nature of
NCDs and make them aware of their own lifestyles.
Another major challenge was convincing doctors, hospitals,
and diagnostic centers to partner with us.
The major challenge for us even today is the lack of
awareness among people towards genetic testing and its
relevance in preventive healthcare. We seek to promote
awareness about genetic testing and its benefits in
preventative healthcare. If the disease cannot be detected on
time, it can impact a person's financial and mental
condition. Preventive health check-up helps in identifying
the abnormalities on time, leading to timely intervention
and early treatment.
Since covid-19, the healthcare industry has shifted towards
technological advancement, and now people are more
aware of their health conditions. In the preventive health
check-up segment, the demand for genetic testing and
personalized medicine have been increased as it helps in
effective and timely treatment. This segment has massive
career potential as it will rise in the coming time. Other than
this, Medical Tourism in India will see huge growth in tier 2
and tier 3 cities. Multi-specialty healthcare is another
growth opportunity.
Single specialty healthcare—such as eye care, dental care,
fertility clinics, and oncology are opportunity areas that
should be considered. Segments like diagnostics facilities,
which are very fragmented, have great growth
opportunities. Medical device firms that innovate will also
be very interesting. Firms developing intellectual property
in medical technology will be the ones to look out for in the
future. Healthcare information technology and mobile
health are also growing fast in speech recognition,
analytics, and revenue cycle improvement areas. Electronic
medical records are yet another opportunity. We are at an
inflection point, and there will be a tremendous opportunity
for growth in several segments of the healthcare industry.
How do you envision scaling your company’s operations
and offerings in 2023 and beyond?
