high; special education, and accelerated learning.

International Symposium on Thinking - Selected as the representative from Central Elementary, to attend
this symposium that included numerous high profile education innovators such as Edward De Bono
Consortium Summer Workshops – For three consecutive summers, in collaboration with select colleagues
throughout Alberta, developed appropriate grade level tasks and accompanying assessments for Language Arts and
Science, which were rolled out province wide.
Grade Six Provincial Achievement Examination Marker
Deeply committed to assisting students in pursuing their passions, and in materializing their inspirations.
Recent examples of this include:
 Implementation of a recycling program based on the conviction and motivation of a grade four student,
which has since been adopted school-wide, was recognized at the municipal level, and has endured for ten
years.
 Coached numerous students in the performing arts for the local music festivals, and several have been
recognized at the provincial level.
 Encouraged interested students to participate in essay and story contests. Several students have been
recognized at both the municipal and provincial levels.
 Fostered an environment of high achievement – on both individual and division math, students have placed
in the top three rankings.
 Mentored the winning team for the school-wide science contest.

provided individual coaching on poetry and story readings for the annual local music festival. On four
