Long Term Evolution (LTE) uses Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) for uplink transmission and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) for downlink transmission. This paper proposes using wavelet transforms with SC-FDMA instead of discrete Fourier transforms to analyze bit error rate (BER) performance. The analysis is conducted with different wavelets and modulation schemes over additive white Gaussian noise channels. The results show that using wavelet transforms in SC-FDMA can reduce BER compared to conventional DFT-based SC-FDMA.
