2. Getting To Know Me
 My name is Kavitria Woods. I am originally from, Indianola, MS. I have lived
in Jackson for 9 years. I attended Fisk University where I obtained a
Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. I am currently attending Belhaven
University where I am pursuing a masters of arts in teaching. I enjoy
traveling, spending time with family and friends, and sweets. This is my first
year teaching and I'm excited.

3. Teacher Philosophy
 “ Know from whence you came. If you know whence you came, there are
absolutely no limitations to where you can go,” James Baldwin. It is with
great joy that I will be teaching you this year. I am a firm believer in
education and believed that obtaining knowledge is one of the best things
one can do. I believe that all children deserve a fair chance at learning and
will make it my responsibility to meet the individual needs of each of my
students physically, socially, and intellectually. As an educator, it is my
responsibility to create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment that will
promote learning and enforce discipline.

8. Homework
 Homework will be given Monday thru Thursday. I will not give homework
over the weekend unless it is a special project or we all behind.
 We will discuss homework at the beginning of class. After discussion is
over, pass homework to the front of the row and I will collect it.

9. Late Work
 Late work will only be accepted one day after it is due unless under special
conditions. However it will be deducted 10 points.

 Missed test must be taken within three days of returning to class; Schedule

 Students should use the restroom before class begins
 After entering the classroom, students will not be allowed to leave, unless it is
an emergency. If there is a medical condition, I will need a letter stating so.

 Students should get water before class begins

13. Pencil Sharpening Policy
 Students are to sharpen pencils upon entering the classroom
 If your lead breaks during class and you have no other writing utensils,
raise your hand and wait for instructions.
 Only use blue or black ink in class

14. Trash Policy
 Hold trash until the end of class
 Pick up all papers around your desk before you leave

15. Food
 No eating or drinking in class unless given permission to do so.

16. Exiting Class Policy
 I will dismiss the class, NOT the bell
 Do not pack up books or materials to exit class until instructed to do so
 Students will be dismissed by rows
