• Both vessels are build by French Shipyard and owned by Brunei Shell Tankers, and
operated by Brunei Gas Carrier.
• Both vessels are going to be scrapped after Brunei has received AMADI (154,800
CBM) which is scheduled in June 2015.
• Brunei has 7 type B LNG Sister ships, they are all scrapped since 2011, except
Bebatik and Belanak.
• The last scrapped vessel was known to have light weight of 19,488 tons with price
per ton approximately US$ 565. Total sale value is about US$ 11 million.
• The previous scrapped vessels are sent to ChangJiang Ship-recylcing Yard, Jiangyin
City, Jiangsu Province, China. It is expected that the last two vessels are going to
the same destination.

8. BST and BGC
• Brunei Shell Tankers Sdn Bhd was established in December 1986 for the purpose of
delivering LNG to overseas customers in Japan.
• BST was initially a joint venture company comprising of the Prime Minister
Corporation (the body corporate of the Government of His Majesty The Sultan and
Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam) and The Shell Petroleum Company Limited
holding equal shares. Later in late 2002, an agreement was reached for Diamond
Gas Carriers B.V. to take stake of 25% of shares in the Company from The Shell
Petroleum Limited, and become the third member of the Company.
• BST owns seven ‘B’ class vessels; the Bubuk, Bilis, Bekalang, Bekulan, Belais,
Bebatik and Belanak, all of which are chartered to BLNG.
• Onshore administration is provided through service agreements with BGC and
Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP). Management, financial, legal and corporate,
administrative and human resource services are provided for by BGC commencing
June 2005.

With 100 MMSCFD gas consumption and parcel of 75,000 CBM, LNG can be
taken from three LNG Port in Indonesia i.e., Bontang, Senoro and Tangguh.
Tangguh as the farthest port from Belawan, can be reached within 16 days of
LNG shuttle tanker round trip. For shuttle tanker, can use 1 carrier with capacity
40,000 up to 60,000 CBM, or 2 tankers with capacity 20,000 up to 30,000 CBM.

16. Gas Demand and Supply in Medan Area
• Status upto 2012, PGN will supply gas from Belawan FSRU (value of US$ 450
million-Hoegh) with capacity of 240 mmscfd, where usage of Sicanang 2 x 226 MW
is approx. 100 MMSCFD. Gas will be sourced from Tangguh for 140 MMSCFD.
• After construction phase started from August 2013 and commitmet of supply from
SKK Migas, PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) finally start operate Gas Pipe Arun
Belawan. For this commisioning phase, Pertagas has gas allocation for 185 million
feet cubic per day (MMSCFD) from ExxonMobil (EMOI). This gas pipe project has
capacity of 300 MMSCFD and 350 kilometers long. Gas Pipe Arun - Belawan will be
start commercially on First Quarter of 2015.
• PT. Pertagas has constructed “Arbel” to supply gas from Arun Regasification Facility
to Belawan using pipe last year. Further, PT. Pertagas concstructed 18.5 km
distribution gas from Belawan to Kawasan Industri Medan, also developed 138 km
gas transport pipe from Belawan to Sei Mangkei (Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus-KEK).
From Belawan PT. Pertagas will supply up to 89 mmscfd to KIM, and will supply 40
mmscfd from KIM to KEK.
• PT. Pertagas Niaga will supply 30-35 MMSCFD of has to PT. Pelindo I, which will be
used for 2 gas power plant i.e., PLTMG Belawan in 2016 and PLTMG Kuala Tanjung
in 2017.
• The LNG cargo, which has 119,000 cubic meters in volume, was sent from the
Tangguh LNG facility and reached Arun. The LNG will be processed by the Arun
LNG receiving and regasification terminal, which recently completed development.
PLN has been allocated to receive nine cargoes of LNG from the Tangguh facility in
Papua this year.
