Beethoven was born in 1770 in Bonn, Germany to a musical family. He showed musical talent from a young age but had a difficult childhood, including having to help raise his siblings after his mother's death. He moved to Vienna in his early 20s to further his musical training and became a renowned composer, though he began losing his hearing in his late 20s and was completely deaf by his late 30s. Despite his deafness, he continued composing some of his most famous works, including his 9 symphonies and 5 piano concertos. He had a temperamental personality and demanding nature but was also a musical genius who left a lasting legacy before his death in 1827.
