How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.
2. As the fourth principal of Bedford College since its inception in 1944,
it is my very great pleasure to tell you a little about our College and
why Bedford is a great first choice when considering your future
training needs.
Choosing any training institution is undoubtedly a difficult decision,
however at Bedford we believe that we have a little more to offer than
other training providers.
Our reputation for excellence in training is second to none and
our long-standing employment relationships with some of the
largest organisations in Sydney provide our graduates with many
employment opportunities.
Bedford Graduates are highly sought after; not just because
they’re well trained with great skills, but also because we have
addressed the additional skills and attributes that employers seek in
their workers.
Today’s employer is looking for more from their staff than just work
skills – employees must also have the right attitude. At Bedford
we address this. We focus on the whole individual, not just the
skills needed for work and this in turn makes our graduates
more employable – they are good ‘all rounders’. We also include
in our courses many subjects that are considered essential ‘life
skills’ – skills that are important no matter where your career may
eventually lead.
The employment success of our graduates is unsurpassed with
many employers choosing only Bedford Graduates when recruiting
new staff. Some organisations employ Bedford graduates every year
and have done so for many years. Time has shown that your Bedford
training will provide you with ‘the edge’ in employment success.
For those of you wishing to undertake tertiary studies on completion
of your Bedford course, our university pathways for Business,
Leadership and Management and Early Childhood Education
graduates will provide you with automatic entry (with credit) into a
university degree at the end of your Bedford diploma course.
For many students these university pathways dramatically reduce
the stress so often associated with the HSC. Students realise that
a university qualification is achievable without an ATAR and what a
great relief that is for many school leavers.
Bedfordstudentscomefromfarandwideandmanymaintaincontact
with us long after their graduation. It’s true to say that some of the
best friends you’ll ever make are as a result of your time spent at
Bedford – staff and students alike become firm friends by the end of
the College year.
I do hope that you decide to study with us here at Bedford and I can
confidently say that should you choose to do so, you will agree that
your time spent here will prove to be some of the happiest and most
rewarding of your life.
I invite you to come in and visit the College, view our campus’ and
facilities and see for yourself just what it is that makes Bedford so
unique.
Finally, may I take this opportunity to wish you well in your
endeavours. I look forward to meeting you in the future.

PRINCIPAL’S
MESSAGE
3. About Bedford College
Bedford College is a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation
(RTO) founded in September 1943 by the Baptist Union in NSW. The
aim of the Union at that time was to provide students with a high-
standard of training in a warm, caring, Christian environment. This,
they felt, would afford students the best opportunity to achieve well-
paid, satisfying employment and become successful individuals in an
ever-changing world.
The first classes commenced in the Central Baptist Church with
25 students, a mix of borrowed typewriters, and lots of hard work,
determination and prayer. Staff were selected not only on their ability
to teach the necessary skills, but also on their commitment to the
standards, ethics and ethos of the College.
Over the past 70 years the College has evolved, from a small
secretarial college for girls, into an up-market training facility for
both males and females.
Glebe Campus - In January 2003, the College moved from its
original home in the Central Baptist Church to its current location
on Parramatta Road, Glebe and after extensive refurbishment, it
became one of the most modern learning facilities in Sydney today.
The Campus is close to shops, cafés, banks, post office, and is just
a ten minute bus ride from Central Railway Station with a bus stop
right at the door.
Norwest Campus – After much consideration and requests from
school careers advisers in the Hills area, Bedford College opened
a second campus in the Norwest Business Park in Baulkham Hills
in January 2014. Many large and small businesses are located at
Norwest, which is one of the fastest growing areas in Sydney today;
it has grown to accommodate over 20,000 employees with expansion
expected to increase to over 35,000 employees by 2031.
Bedford College’s Norwest campus is a state of the art building
within close proximity to buses, gyms, cafés/restaurants and shops.
On-site student parking is available.
Our Business, Leadership and Management and Early Childhood
classrooms at both the Glebe and Norwest Campus have been
purpose-built to replicate a real-life workplace setting. The courses
are situated on different levels of the building and the students learn
in a setting that simulates their future work environment.
The College provides extensive academic and social support services
to maximise our students ability to succeed, and an on-site Chaplain
is available to talk to students should they wish to do so.
However, even with all of these changes some things haven’t changed
at all:
The Baptist Union’s original intention of providing students with
quality training and personal encouragement within a caring,
Christian environment, was the tradition on which the College was
founded. In this regard nothing has changed – that tradition stands
just as strongly today.
At Bedford we believe that every individual can achieve well if given
encouragement, assistance, guidance and a feeling of self-worth.
This is our aim.
3
STRIVING FOR
EXCELLENCE
4. 4
Employment Placement Assistance
All the training in the world is of little use unless graduates are able to
put that training into practice in the workplace. Obviously, no college
can absolutely guarantee that every graduate will get a job however;
virtually 100% of Bedford graduates have obtained satisfying, well-
paid employment on completion of their College course (some are
employed even before their course is completed). And many of these
employment positions have come directly through the College.
Did you know that statistics show that 70% of jobs are never
advertised? How then do job seekers hear about available jobs? At
Bedford, our graduates enjoy the benefits of graduating from a well-
established, reputable training college with strong industry links.
Many organisations - both large and small - contact the College when
an employment position becomes available. It’s then the job of our
Work Placement Officer to liaise with the organisation, assess their
needs and coordinate interviews between the employer and suitable
Bedford candidates.
Technology
The latest technology has been implemented in both the Glebe and
Norwest Campuses. Current, industry-standard computer hardware
and software has been installed in all computer labs and student
break-outs, and each student has a personal roaming profile on the
network. Students also have their own Bedford College email address
which can be accessed both at College and remotely. Every classroom
has computers and interactive audio visual equipment.
iPads
An Apple iPad is included in the tuition fee for all students, and e-texts
(electronic textbooks) are used for all subjects. The iPad alleviates the
need for students to carry multiple textbooks to and from college and
also allows them to study whilst travelling and at home. Students are
also able to send and receive college emails on the iPad so there is no
reason that any student should miss a message from their teacher.
Bedford Online
Today’s student is much more computer savvy than previous
generations and online learning has become commonplace in many
training organisations.
Bedford College first implemented Bedford Online several years ago;
and over the years it has been developed to become a highly successful
and very popular supplement to our training practices. Using Bedford
Online, students can access classes outside normal college hours
where they may revise work, chat and email trainers and other
students,collectandlodgeassignments,checkdiarydates,participate
in forums, download notes, link to websites, etc.
Small Class Sizes
The College is committed to training in small groups and class
sizes are therefore limited in numbers. This allows teachers to give
individualised attention to every student which provides them with the
maximum opportunity to achieve their own personal best results.
Supervised Study Period (student support)
For students who need a little extra tuition or revision, we offer a
free one-hour Supervised Study Period from 3.00pm to 4.00pm each
day. Teaching staff are available to work with students during these
periods and this extra private tuition can make all the difference to the
student’s final results.
Teaching Staff
The teaching staff at Bedford are the ‘backbone of the College’. We are
proud of our ability to recruit and retain high-calibre teachers who are
industry trained professionals dedicated to helping students succeed
in their chosen field. Our teachers are committed to upholding the
aims and objectives of the College and are keen to support the ethos
on which the College was built.
THE BEDFORD
ADVANTAGE
5. University Pathways
On completion of their course, many Bedford graduates choose to
further their studies at a higher education level. We are pleased to
be able to provide articulation pathways which provide automatic
entry into a university degree (with credit) at a range of leading
universities. It’s true to say that there are Bedford graduates
currently studying in almost every university in New South Wales.
Scholarships
A number of scholarships are awarded each year across
both campuses which provide part of the tuition costs for
the one-year diploma courses. Students wishing to apply for
scholarship are required to submit a portfolio for assessment.
More information can be found on our website or alternatively
you may telephone the College and speak to a Course Adviser.
Fully Accredited Courses
Bedford College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
registered in Australia by the Australian Skills Quality Authority
(ASQA). All courses are fully accredited and align with the
Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). This means that the
qualification you receive at Bedford is recognised by industry
and other training providers and is therefore portable should
you wish to advance your studies later.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students may apply for RPL for competencies (skills and
knowledge) they already possess. RPL applications must be
made in writing and include documented evidence to support
the claim.
Accommodation
For many students the need to study makes it necessary to move
away from home. At Bedford we are able to assist students
with accommodation advice for both the Glebe and Norwest
Campus, including homestay or hostel type accommodation.
More information can be found on our website or you may
telephone the College for further details.

Did you know that business
is the largest cross-industry
sector in the world today?
In Australia alone, the
number of workers
employed in business
exceeds 1.3 million which
is approximately 16% of the
entire workforce.
Business is perhaps one of
the areas of employment
where demand for workers
exceeds supply. In other
words, there are more
jobs available for business
workers than there are
people to fill them.

11. FAQ
What are the entry requirements for enrolment?
Whilst the majority of our students have completed the
HSC, successful completion of Year 10 (or equivalent) is
acceptable for enrolment. No ATAR score is required.
What are the entrance requirements for
international students?
Overseas/International students, for whom English is not
their first language, evidence of an intermediate level of
English (IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent) is required. A High School
Diploma or equivalent and a minimum age of 18 years is also
required for enrolment.
What are the College academic terms?
We have four terms each year, which are based loosely on
the NSW state school timetable.
What will I receive when I finish the course?
All courses at Bedford are fully accredited and qualifications
align with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
This means that your qualifications are nationally recognised
within industry and by all other registered training providers.
On completion of your course, you will be issued with two or
three documents which will include:
• An AQF Qualification – i.e. Diploma or Certificate III. (The
AQF qualification is issued only to students who meet all
the requirements of the entire course qualification; and
• A Transcript of Results – showing all of the units in which
you demonstrated competence; or
• An AQF Statement of Attainment – is provided to students
who do not achieve a full AQF qualification (as above); or
students who demonstrate competence in additional units
to those required for the AQF qualification issued. The
Statement of Attainment lists the course units in which you
demonstrated competence.
You will also receive:
• A Bedford College Transcript of Results - showing the
units that you have completed and a graded result for
each of those units (pass, credit or distinction).
Will I get credit for work I have already done or
already know?
A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy is in place
which allows students to apply for credit for subjects already
undertaken or skills already attained. The College recognises
all AQF qualifications and statements of attainment awarded
by other registered training organisations.
What is the expected attendance?
Students are expected to maintain a 90% attendance level
in order to achieve a high standard of results and progress
satisfactorily in the course.
How is my work assessed?
Assessments are conducted through a variety of
means including practical and written exercises,
tests, projects, assignments, role plays, simulations,
demonstrations, presentations and on-the-job training.
What if I don’t pass the assessment?
If you don’t pass an assessment the first time, there is no
need to panic. After a period of additional study and revision,
you will be offered the opportunity to re-sit your assessment.
What happens if I need additional help or revision?
The College provides an optional one-hour Supervised
Study Period from 3.00pm-4.00pm each day when
students can receive additional tuition and/or revision
with the teacher of their choice. (There is no additional
cost to students who attend the optional tuition sessions).
What should I wear to College?
Business/Leadership and Management Students
Business/Leadership and Management students
are required to dress appropriately for a corporate
business environment. This includes skirts, jackets, and
tailored pants for females and business trousers and
collared shirts for males (Joggers, denim, crop tops,
baseball caps, ugg boots and thongs are not allowed).
Early Childhood Education Students
Most Early Learning Centres today require their staff to wear
appropriate uniform and this is also what happens at College.
Students wear a blue polo shirt (supplied at College), black
slacks (pants), closed-in shoes (ugg boots and thongs not
allowed) and a black polar fleece jacket (winter only).
Will I have additional work to do at home?
The average student should spend approximately six to eight
hours per week on homework - but remember that we have
our Optional Study Period each day when students may work
on homework tasks whilst at College.
How are classes taught?
Programs are designed to allow for the adoption of a range
of learning strategies in a variety of learning environments
to cater for differences in learning styles, learning interests
and needs and variations in learning opportunities. This is
known as flexible delivery and these methods may include:
• Self-paced learning
• Computer assisted learning (online)
• Flexible timetabling
• Face-to-face lecture/tutorial
• Individualised learning
• On or off the job modes
• Peer-to-peer learning
• On-the-job learning (in the workplace)
In addition to the classroom learning, students can also
access lecture notes, extra handouts, assessment and other
information from the Bedford Online Classrooms.

12. ’Skills for life’
Student Study Room/Breakout Areas
The Student Study Room/Breakout Areas are fully-
networked areas at each campus are available to students
from 8.30am-5.00pm daily. These areas are used by
students to check emails, complete online classroom
tasks and homework, submit assessments/assignments,
undertake online research, check diary dates, etc.
Community Involvement
Our aim is to create a welcoming and friendly environment
for our students and to encourage a feeling of belonging
to the Bedford community. Being a Bedford student
is not just about studying, it’s also about meeting new
people, making new friends, having new experiences,
learning about different lifestyles and engaging with people
that you may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
Every year students at Bedford elect members of the
student body to form the SRC. The SRC is responsible for
organising out-of-college social and fund raising events
and also for arranging the end of year formal evening.
Being a part of the SRC means that members use the
leadership and team skills learned at College in order to
work effectively with others. Involvement in the SRC is a way
of developing a sense of ‘belonging’ to the College community.
Community Services
The SRC is responsible for the organisation of a range of
fundraising events throughout the year and the College
supports many charities. These include Shave for a Cause,
Jeans for Genes, Red-Nose Day, Daffodil Day, Bandage Bear,
Red Cross and The Biggest Morning Tea. Students are very
enthusiastic about getting involved and contributing to these
charitable causes.
College Formal
The annual College Formal is held at the end of the
College year and is organised by the SRC. The Formal is
an exciting event, held at a time when students are able to
relax and enjoy themselves in the company of their friends.
Student Graduation Ceremony
The Graduation Ceremony is the culmination of the entire
year’s work. It’s a very special evening for students and
staff alike – both a happy and a sad time. Leaving old,
familiar faces and moving into the corporate world or
university or both – it’s a big step but also a very proud
occasion. Graduation is also the time when students’ special
achievements are recognised and awards are given to
students whose performance has warranted special mention.

13. Hamish Tait
Child Care Graduate
I graduated from school with a lower ATAR
than was required for Early Childhood
Education courses at university, however
Bedford was able to give me the education
I required without an ATAR score.
Throughout the year I gained knowledge
through small, personal classroom sizes,
engaging discussions with teachers
who were in the industry themselves as
well as a very positive and supportive
environment.
During the practical side of the course
such as Play Session and my Practicum
Placement, I was able to get hands on
experiences and decided once and for all
that Early Childhood Education is definitely
where I want to be.
Through my Practicum Placement,
I gained a job as a Room Assistant and
was soon promoted to Room Leader of
the pre-school room. The specialised
course material at Bedford provided
varied and unique subjects which
subsequently allowed me to take on
the role of Sustainability Coordinator
at my centre.
I have also recently completed my
Bachelor of Education part-time through
Charles Sturt University where I received
over a year of credit because of my studies
at Bedford.
I could not be happier in my career and I
owe this to the foundation Bedford College
provided.
Jade Schofield
Child Care Student
I did not receive the ATAR I needed to
get into university so I chose to study a
Diploma of Children’s Services at Bedford
College.
I heard many success stories from
past Bedford students using Bedford
as a pathway to uni, which was also
my plan.
My year at Bedford was wonderful! I
made many new friends and succeeded
academically, which was something I
didn’t think I would achieve.
I learnt that with hard work and dedication
you can reach your goals, with my goal
being to attend the University of Notre
Dame. I was so happy when I received not
only an offer from Notre Dame, but also
an offer from the University of Sydney. I
am currently studying a double degree in
Education (0-12yrs).
The continuous support and help from
teachers allowed me to believe in myself
and to strive to achieve the best results
that I possibly could.
Attending Bedford College after high
school was the best decision for me, as
I felt it was a fantastic stepping stone
into university. It was a great learning
environment which prepared me with the
necessary academic skills and helpful
tactics for University. I am so glad that
I attended Bedford College and am very
thankful for Bedford’s amazing services
and teaching staff.
Kim Grace
Business Student
When I was in the 10th grade I knew that
business was the career path I wanted to
take. But I was disappointed after looking
at the subjects on selection for year 11
and 12 and seeing that there was only
one or two subjects related to business.
I spoke to my careers adviser and that’s
when she recommended Bedford College.
After hearing all about the options and
opportunities available to me it seemed
too good to be true! It was a huge risk
leaving school in year 10 but looking
back was the best decision I ever made.
Not only was I was I building towards my
future career and learning life skills that
would help me succeed, but I also met
some fantastic people, friends that I’ll
have for life.
Bedford College provided me with a
welcoming and supportive structure that
greatly assisted my transition from school
into the workplace and further tertiary
study. Once I finished my diploma I was
abletostartworkingparttimeinmarketing
whilst also getting straight into my second
year at Macquarie University. Since then
I’ve worked for a number of different
organisations and am currently employed
as the Live Events and Marketing Manager
for the Wiggles!
