LEA is founded and headed by Jerold Yap Hock Lai.
Jerold Yap ventured into the business world in his early twenties, starting from
scratch without financial assistance. He trains and consults in the areas of
leadership, strategy, management, psychology, sales and marketing and customer
service.
“...success in the early years was bittersweet - we had to compete with global
brands which are more established and bigger in operations, the emergence of
new players, and of course, the changing of government policies. But those
exposures had never daunted us but made us more resilient and facilitated the
professionalism and implementation of our business...”
“.....education is necessary for
one's development. It should
be one's life-long pursuit..”
We advocate Corporate Branding and Identity as part of our growth
and expansion plans. We believe in creating and supporting
education ideals that are pioneer in their own class, appreciated and
long remembered by students.
LEA is keen to manage and deliver quality education by understanding the strategy
and needs of students versus current market requirements. This supports the
development of new programmes and courses, upgrading requirements and
deployment. We constantly monitor and analyze market development with a view to
capturing opportunities to develop our business portfolios.

03LEA PROFILE BOOKMESSAGE FROM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR
Greetings from all of us at LEA English Centre!
LEA has always been practising in equipping our
students with the skills, knowledge and personal
qualities to confidently face challenges of a rapidly
changing world. LEA students are encouraged to take
on new challenges on a day-to-day basis to foster
self-discipline, encourage independent learning and

stand in good stead in their life's endeavors.
LEA employs an integrated and thematic approach to
learning language and acquiring knowledge – we
nurture and educate with a personal touch. Our aim is
such that we are able to produce independent
learners who are able to excel in the “real” world
outside the classrooms.
I believe that in learning a language, in particularly a
language that is not your mother tongue, can possible
be a challenge in itself. Mastering a language is never
easy. That is why we want to relieve this stress of
learning a language by providing a comfortable and
fun learning environment.
Jerold Yap

based on our core values. Quality relationships
between all students and members of the centre
underpin an inclusive, flexible curriculum”
There is an ever changing landscape in the education
field. The company plans to increase our market
participation significantly over the following years. We
anticipate significant opportunities in this market and
hope to be ideally placed in line with the company's
expansion plans to capture different markets and
business associates to our stable, not withstanding
the fact that we are first and foremost an educator.
We continue to advance our role in language learning
by enhancing and enriching students' achievement
and institutional effectiveness. Our solutions effectively
allow students to develop personalized academic and
career plans based on their interest, competency,
learning styles and interest. We look forward to our

that, this course is also primarily and professionally
designed for the students to be able to practise the

term ‘exceptional and unique’ is the best to describe
medical language. This is because it is a complete
version of a language that full of technical terms and
words that have been created and invented
exclusively for medical practitioners such as doctors
and nurses for them to use at their workplace
especially for efficient communication.
Learning English and a lot more other medical terms
that have a lot of new words and most medical

they learn can be correlated much more adequately
and strongly to their future working world.

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF.
I come from Kazakhstan and I am a professional
actor. Currently I am studying in Malaysia to
improve my English.
I work with a television company and came to
Malaysia to study. I also wish to gain experience
on working abroad.
IS THIS YOUR FIRST TIME STUDYING IN
MALAYSIA?
Yes
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR
EXPERIENCE IN LEA.
This is my first time in Malaysia. Within one
month, I have improved my English
tremendously. I wish I can continue my studies
in Malaysia and later be able to work here too.
Finally I have completed my first month of
English study. I am excited to return to continue
my studies.
TELL US MORE ABOUT MALAYSIA.
I like Malaysia a lot, we went to Perhentian
Island and tried diving for the first time and
learned a lot about marine creatures.
I like Malaysia a lot. When we were at the island,
I was surprised to see water so clear! The only
problem is the food which I find too spicy.

‘It Is Never Too Late To Learn Something New’
Believe it or not it. When I came to Malaysia from
my hometown Symkent, Kazakhstan in 2011, I
could barely order food in a restaurant or to have a
general conversation with my classmates or even
housemates.
Soon I started to attend English classes in LEA. I
improved my English thanks to all the nice
teachers and staff at the language school. They
helped my life to become more pleasant.
Now I am almost one year with a New Zealand
based company. Our team is multinational, so
English is the only way how to communicate.
As everyone can see I did it. I started from zero
and now a “hero”; and started a new chapter of my
life. I would love to have followers because it is
really never too late to start something new,
especially learn or improve English in a different
country where you are left on your own.
