UNITS OF COMPETENCIES.
11. 11
ASSESSMENTS.
Project Work
The student is required to complete a range of projects in the context of his or her own workplace, or on a case
study that is provided by the Assessor. A project will require the creation of various workplace documents (such as
reports, memos, presentations), and may have a practical component where the student may be asked to present
the outcomes or findings of their project work.
Written Reports
The student is required to produce a range of written records or reports based on real workplace scenarios or
based on a case study that is provided by the Assessor. This will usually require the student to carefully consider the
situation presented, undertake some research to inform them of their response, and then to recommend actions.
Dolph Business School conducts
assessments using a combination of
realistic workplace tasks, project work,
knowledge tests and response to case
studies.
This guide gives you an overview of what
you can expect.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR
LEARNING.
Role-plays
The student is required to demonstrate a range of skills whilst being
observed by the Assessor. This will usually require the student to
consider carefully the situation presented, undertake some research
to inform their response, and then to propose their recommended
actions. The student may be asked to demonstrate a range of skills
relevant to the workplace.
Knowledge Assessments
The student is required to participate in knowledge assessments
over the course of his or her study. The student will be required to
complete the assessment independently, but they may research the
answers from the course training materials and notes, as well as
from any other relevant sources.
In accordance with the requirements of the Standards for
Registered Training Organisations, Dolph Business School provides
the opportunity for students to apply to have their prior learning
and experience recognised towards an accredited qualification or
units of competence for which they are enrolled in.
You can apply for recognition of your existing skills and knowledge
that are relevant to the units of competencies within the relevant
accredited course program. These skills and knowledge may have
been obtained through workplace training or experience, or prior
formal training, and may reduce the number of units required to be
completed during the training program.
Please speak to us if you are interested to apply for recognition of
prior learning prior to your enrolment. We will gather the required
information about your prior experience and training history to
determine the best pathway for you to achieve competency.
TYPES OF ASSESSMENTS.
12. Our Certificate and Diploma courses are nationally recognised
qualifications. This means that they are recognised by all
Australian Universities for determining your eligibility for entry and
course credit.
The course credit you are granted will vary depending on the
undergraduate degree you choose to undertake, and the grades you
attain for your Certificate or Diploma. The time and money saved
through a transfer of credits can be substantial!
Most prestigious universities expect you to maintain a 75-80%
average to be eligible for course credit towards your bachelor
degree.
Upon completion of your Certificate or Diploma program at Dolph
Business School, should you wish to continue your studies and apply
for a university undergraduate degree course, our Student &
Administration Support team will assist you with your enrolment
application, as well as your advanced standing (course credit)
application.
We have credit agreements in place with several universities across
Australia which guarantees students entry and credit transfer upon
completion of our certificate and diploma courses, and could take
up to a year off your bachelor's degree! These credit agreements
are of great importance as outside of these, there is no guarantee
of the amount of credit transfer you will receive.
Refer to our website for up-to-date information.

Notes.
Fees do not include the issue of any
hardcopy texts.
All nationally recognised courses are exempt
from the payment of GST. No GST is included
in the fees. GST does apply to all short
courses and miscellaneous charges but not
on any nationally recognised courses.
All fees must be paid in full before students
can be issued with any certificate relating to
their achievements.
Students will meet their own costs in relation
to access to computer systems, internet,
travel, accommodation, meals, stationary,
and any other costs to enable their
participation in the course.
The Terms & Conditions of a student's
enrolment, and the availability of the
complaints and appeals processes, does not
remove the right of the student to take action
under Australia's consumer protection laws.
21. When and how do I pay?
Fees are payable when an invoice is received. Invoiced fees must be
paid in full within 7-days of receiving the invoice from Dolph Business
School, unless otherwise stated. Dolph Business School may cancel an
enrolment or discontinue training if fees are not paid by the due date.
Payments are invoiced as follows.
On campus delivery:
Fees are billed on a monthly basis.
Online delivery:
If your course is under $1,490, the full amount will be invoiced prior to
the commencement of the course. If your course is above $1,490, the fist
$1,490 is invoiced prior to the commencement of the course, with the
balance invoiced within 14-days of the course commencing.
Are payment plans available?
We understand that not everyone has the financial resources to pay
upfront, speak to one of our Student & Administration Officers regarding
the options available!
How do I set up a payment plan?
Should you wish to set up a payment plan, please notify us and a
Payment Schedule will be prepared. You will be able to tailor a payment
plan to suit your circumstances - whether you prefer a weekly,
fortnightly, or monthly direct debit arrangement. This requires an initial
payment of $375 prior to the commencement of the course to confirm
your enrolment. This arrangement is only currently available to students
undertaking a Diploma or a Certificate IV course.
Where a student defaults on the agreed payment plan, the student may
not be considered for subsequent payment plan requests. The debt
becomes payable in full immediately or the student may be suspended
from further tuition.
Changes to terms and conditions
Dolph Business School reserves the right to amend the conditions of the
student's enrolment at any time. If amendments are made that affects
the student's enrolment, the student will be informed 7-days prior to the
changes taking effect.
Our guarantee to you
If, for any reason, Dolph Business School is unable to fulfil its service
agreement with a student, Dolph Business School will refund the
student's proportion of fees paid for services not yet delivered.
What payment methods are available?
Payment methods include bank transfer or payment via debit or
credit Visa or Mastercard.
Do I pay GST in my tuition fees?
No - training tuition fees are GST exempt under section 38-85 GSTR
2003/1 Goods and Services Tax, tax ruling. The ruling explains the
supply of a course for 'professional or trade course' is a GST-free
education course. GST does apply on the payment of miscellaneous
charges.
Can I get a refund?
Yes - if you give notice to cancel your enrolment 10 business days or
more prior to the commencement of a training program, you will be
entitled to a full refund of fees paid.
If you give notice to cancel your enrolment 9 business days or less
prior to the commencement of a training program, you will be
entitled to a refund of up to 75% of the fees paid. The amount
retained by Dolph Business School is required to cover the costs of
staff, learning materials and resources which will have already been
committed based on your initial intention to undertake the training.
If you give notice to cancel your enrolment after a training program
has commenced, you will not be entitled to a refund of the fees.
Discretion may be exercised by the Chief Executive Officer if there
is extenuating or significant personal circumstance that led to your
withdrawal.
How do I get a refund?
To obtain a refund, you are required to complete the Deferral,
Suspension or Withdrawal form, and a Refund Request form. Where
refunds are approved, the refund payment will be paid via
electronic funds transfer using the authorised bank account
nominated by you. This payment will be made within 14-days from
the time your refund request is approved.
Are my fees protected in case I need a refund?
Yes - Dolph Business School has a responsibility to protect the fees
paid by students. To meet this need, Dolph Business School will only
accept an initial payment of no more than $1,500 from each local
student prior to the commencement of their course. This fee
protection arrangement complies with the national standards
designed to limit the amount paid by a student in advance of
services being delivered.
