The CEO and owner Alisdair Low trained as a secondary teacher at Goldsmiths College London. He has
taught in main stream primary and secondary and SEN schools. He spent 2 years teaching severely
autistic pupils in Hatton School in Redbridge East London. Having spent 10 years in Educational Recruitment as
an award winning Senior Manager for large national agencies, Alisdair qualified in recruitment practice
(MREC Cert RP) and employment law and decided to start his own company to provide schools with a tailored, cost
effective service. Johan worked as a Teaching Assistant in various schools in London eventually being
promoted to SENCO Assistant. This position lead him into the Educational Recruitment Sector where he
became one of the most successful consultants nationally, at Protocol Education. Jenny trained as a
Secondary Teacher in London and for the past 6 years she has taught pupils from Years 7 to 13 at Nonsuch
High School in Surrey. Jenny’s years of teaching coupled with her business experience at Reuters have motivated her to
take on a new direction, enabling her to utilise these skills in the challenging arena of Education
Recruitment. In Alisdair and Johan she has discovered like minded professionals with the unified goal of
providing honest and quality driven recruitment solutions to both schools and teachers .
Scott holds degrees in Humanities and Education, and has taught in a range of primary and
secondary schools in Australia and the UK. Scott’s teaching career has largely been in Catholic
schools, where he has held middle management positions as Academic Co-ordinator and Head of Department.
Scott specialises in recruiting for Catholic and church-based schools across London and the Home Counties.
His specialised knowledge of this education sector enables him to provide quality recruitment services to
schools and teachers.
Chris was a Senior Manager in the Oil & Gas Industry based in Great Yarmouth, who as a trained assessor has
for the past 7 years has been helping candidates with their NVQ’s, he also delivers training packages for
candidates within the Oil & Gas Industry within specialist areas. He has also helped at local schools in giving the
school leavers the benefit of his experience when they are applying for positions in industry or further
education. “In joining Cohort I believe I have found a group of people with the same goals & drivers as myself, who wish to
deliver the right solution and not just a body to fill a vacancy. Their knowledge with their enthusiasm to make a difference
are the fundamental reasons why I wish to be a part of their future success.”

Donna has a BA (Hons) degree in English and started her career in corporate banking. Her interests swung
towards education once her family came along and she spent a significant amount of time volunteering in
school and then working in a pre-school before taking a position as project manager for an education resource
company, where she coordinated training nationally for support staff in both primary and secondary schools
for six years. Donna is now with Cohort as they are a company who genuinely care about the teachers,
Schools and pupils they work with.
                                                    Nottingham
Kam having studied to become a Surveyor at the Nottingham Trent University, chose to set up his own business.
utilising the skills he had acquired from his education and from developing properties whilst studying, Kam
turned his attention to recruitment after a chance encounter with Dragons Den star James Caan. Having built up
his own property portfolio by the age of 25, Kam believes that the key to his success is attributed to the
education he received. He decided to join Cohort Education because of the company’s approach to putting the pupil first in
their recruitment process and the team’s commitment to schools and teachers
 Croydon, and this particular school found it very difficult to recruit 3 staff:
an English Teacher, a Maths Teacher and a SENCO.
 The school had already spent far too much on supply teachers that only tended to stay for
a few weeks as they found the travelling difficult. This disrupted the pupils’ work and the
lack of continuity was very unsettling.
 In order to match the right teachers to the school, Alisdair our Managing Director and London
trained teacher spent a day at the school, to get a “feel” for the culture of the school.
 Cohort Education agreed to advertise free of charge on industry websites and national media, shortlisting to the
    school’s specifications.
 As we are recruiting daily for schools, we are very aware of the best internet sites to advertise on, and where to
    find teaching staff.
 We shortlisted the teachers, interviewed them, fully cleared them in terms of references and CRB checks and
right to work in the U.K and sent them to the school for a trial day at no cost.
 RESULT! Yes! It worked. The school wanted all 3 teachers.
 Now came the COST factor.
 The school had been paying up to £189 a day for supply teachers.
 That came to £2835 per week – or £11,340 per month.
 Cohort Education agreed that the school would payroll the teachers pro rata on a salary of £25,000 and that we
would just invoice £500 per teacher per month – with no perm fee if they were taken on at the end of the term.
 This bespoke agreement reduced the school’s recruitment costs by almost £4000 per month
 Ask us today how we can reduce your recruitment costs in your school.
 We will LISTEN to you
 One consultant dealing with all your requirements available 24 hours 7 days a week
 NO hidden charges
 NO charge if the teacher fails to meet your high expectations
 Thorough checks on all candidates made available to you before the booking
 Selected CVs or none at all – not 15 on your fax machine
 No daily cold calling – you have better things to do
 We abide by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's code of ethics
