What is Techno-pedagogy (TP)
• TP is basis of effective teaching in online-
learning
• It refers to electronically mediated teaching
that integrate pedagogy principles with the
use of technology
• TP does not mean only use of internet and
digital devices/applications but to use
technology as means of achieving learning
objectives related to content.

• TP requires series of skills that is central to
teachers work with technology.
• Teacher need to develop appropriate, context
specific strategies and representations for TP
• It is different from skills of subject or
technology expert or general pedagogue

• TP requires more than knowing useful
pedagogical techniques and familiarity with
technologies;
• It requires an understanding of how particular
technologies can provide support for
particular pedagogical strategies or
techniques.
• Additionally requires an understanding of how
technologies can support pedagogies for
specific subjects.

  • 3. Introduction • Technology is the strongest factor shaping the educational landscape during the LOCKDOWN • It has been used rapidly for learning, teaching, examination, administration and professional development

Why to Become a Techno-Pedagogue? • Rapid development of technology • Paradigm shift in learning (constructivism) • Changing nature of learners (Digital) • Digital immigrant teachers • Teachers has not embraced technology • Technology has changed the classroom teaching • General nature of software
  • 6. • Technology makes learning lively and real • Technology makes learning Universal Access • Increased role of e-learning/online learning/remote learning due to PANDEMIC • There is no single technology that applies to every teacher, class and subjects. • Knowing how to use technology is not same as knowing how to teach with it.

What is Techno-pedagogy (TP) • TP is basis of effective teaching in online- learning • It refers to electronically mediated teaching that integrate pedagogy principles with the use of technology • TP does not mean only use of internet and digital devices/applications but to use technology as means of achieving learning objectives related to content.

Conclusion • TP requires more than knowing useful pedagogical techniques and familiarity with technologies; • It requires an understanding of how particular technologies can provide support for particular pedagogical strategies or techniques. • Additionally requires an understanding of how technologies can support pedagogies for specific subjects.
