The Big Data Europe project aimed to develop an open source big data integration platform and apply it across 7 pilot projects addressing European societal challenges. The platform was released in May 2017 and allows users to easily deploy modularized components using Docker. The 7 pilot projects covered areas like agriculture, transport, climate, health, and security, using real-world use cases and data to test solutions. The project held workshops to engage stakeholders and demonstrate the platform.
