The BIG DATA EUROPE PROJECT aims to empower mobility management with big data. It coordinates stakeholder engagement and runs from 2015-2017. It developed the BDE Integrator Platform, an open source big data platform with modular Docker components. The platform facilitates integration and deployment of big data solutions. It supports 7 societal challenge pilots aligned with European Commission initiatives, including a transport pilot in Thessaloniki, Greece that uses multisource traffic data to predict traffic conditions. The project coordinates with stakeholders and makes results openly available online through tools like TrafficThess, TrafficPaths, and TrafficThess Reports.
