The Effective Field Goal percentage gives more credit to
made 3 point field goals since they yield 1.5 times the
scoring of a 2 point field goal

Ball Possessions (BP)
BP = ( FGA + 0.475x FTA ) – ( ORB + TO )
Free throw attempts are a tricky number. Possessions can end with one
through three free throw attempts, so the number has to be multiplied by the
consensus value of 0.475 to get a more accurate calculation
