2. What is Energy?
Energy
is the ability to do work.
Definitions:
Work- Work can be defined as transfer of
energy. In physics we say that work is done
on an object when you transfer energy to
that object. If one object transfers (gives)
energy to a second object, then the first
object does work on the second object
3. Where is Energy Found?
Energy
is in everything. We use energy for
everything we do, from making a jump
shot to baking cookies to sending
astronauts into space.
4. What are types of energy?
Heat
(thermal)
Light (radiant)
Motion (kinetic)
Electrical
Chemical
Nuclear energy
Gravitational
5. Main Types of Energy:
Kinetic: In physics, the kinetic energy of an object is the
energy which it has due to its movement.
Potential: The mechanical energy that a body has by
virtue of its position; stored energy.
Light: An illuminating object or source such as the sun or a
lamp. Also called radiant energy.
