This presentation was created to show my ideas for both narrative and non narrative films for the BA2 Brief on the Film and Moving Image Production Course at NUA.
2. Narrative
•
Black & White
•
Werckmeister Harmonies
(2000)
•
Tracking Shots
•
Minimum no. of tracking shots
•
Emphasis on darkness &
shadows
•
Mix of Diegetic & Non-Diegetic
Sound
3. Plot
•
Potential Title : Snooze
•
Man wakes up at 6:00 AM every morning for work. Undertakes the
same daily routine.
•
Eg. Buy paper from shop, Goes to get coffee, Says hello to the
same street performer every day, sits down in office, eats
sandwich, goes back to office, leaves, gets bus home, eats dinner,
goes to bed.
•
Use of sound is particularly important when used in cash register,
street performers instrument, keyboard, rip open of sandwich,
coffee cup on office desk, door shut, closing of bus door, pots
boiling and cooking and light being turned off of bedroom.

5. Non - Narrative
•
Focused on non-diegetic
sound.

Coloured Ink in glasses of
water
•
Slow motion (experimentation
on Twixtor)
•
Alternative Dance/House track
possibility
6. Example
•
The following clip gives you an
impression on the sort of effect
and film I am going to try and
achieve.
•
By a filmmaker/director named
Jacob Schwarz and is shot using
a red epic camera and it is really
effective in its use of colour.
•
Shot in 4K = Clarity of the image.
